My internet speed ranges from 40mbps to 90 mbps in general, yet I never experience ping below ~90. Recently my games have been 500 ping but I check my internet speed and it is still high. What’s going on?
which server do you play on. if you play in us and try to play on eu server or china you will ofc get high ping.

If you play over WiFi you can get high ping no matter how high your speed.
If you play on a server far away from you, same thing. If someone on your network is downloading something, high ping too. If your ISP has bad servers, high ping.
Download speed doesn’t correlate to ping. You can have have 1gbps download speed, yet have 1200 ping to China from the US.

Assuming you’re on the correct server, try using a cable to connect your pc directly with your modem, that helps a little. I have a lot less mbps than you do and my ping is better so it’s definitely not a speed issue but more of connection.
The reason you’re getting high ping is because of one change from the April 14 patch notes. I live on the western US coast and got an average of 30 ping and connected to that server nearly 100% of the time. After that patch, I now only connect to US Central giving me 70-80 ping, which makes the game really sluggish for me.
