It isn’t so much that I am anti-Anduin (although I do feel a little meh about him) as much as I feel we have got a LOT of WoW heroes over the past year.

It’s probably because Garrosh’s Horde was reminiscent of the old Horde. They were pretty evil and embraced it. It’s nice and straightforward. Doesn’t help that the Horde are often instigators in faction conflict but often pull the “we’re really not so bad” card, often through a splinter faction. Like now with Sylvanas and saurfang.
From january 2018 we’ve gotten 4 WC heroes, 3 Diablo,2 SC and 1 Unique. Its about where it’s always been. Maybe there’s more proportionally because of the slower release schedule.

Which means that with 5 possible sources to draw from (WC, Diablo, SC, OW and “Other”) 5 of the last 10 (including Anduin) have all been from the same franchise… and you wonder why people are tired of Warcraft heroes.

I’ve said this before, but Warcraft can get away with it because Warcraft is so varied. When it comes to Starcraft, you have Terrans, Protoss, Zerg, and like two N/A. That will get stale fast. Diablo has humans, demons, and angels, unless you want to start adding Quill Rats. Warcraft has so much. Aliens, demons, undead, fantasy, sci-fi, gods, peasants, RTS units, WoW classes, Hearthstone cards, it just goes on.
And yet we get a human…

Not only do we get a Human, but we get a Human Priest, which we JUST got 5 heroes ago.
I mean warcraft is my favorite universe. I agree with Murloc on the variety thing, it’s just they don’t tend to like to expand beyond the playable races. Probably because people are looking for specific faces to play, most of which are humans. So if I got to choose between three different types of humans I guess I could do without the Warcraft ones.
Plus, at this point warcraft would go without two heroes. So meh, I guess.

Whitemane fills in the much-requested ‘evil support’ niche. She’s never been my pick, but she does fill her own space.
Don’t get me wrong; as much as I do like Anduin and have championed for him, I would honestly prefer Sombra or a Zerg character right now. It’s been far too long. I just don’t feel the need to endlessly whine about it like a little baby. Sometimes it’s nice to look on the bright side of life.
