He has negative win rates at all levels but Master. And Master is 50% flat.
Reports of his OPness may have been exaggerated.

1 keep in mind alot of the non imp mains are now still playing him, but unlike before they dont have his numbers to bolster their winrate.
2 i agree with you though he feels like heck to play. Now you cannot waveclear or dominate teamfights (although to a much lesser extent. Good imp players will still do fine with him).
I just won a game with Imperius on my team
Maybe this is just filtering all the people who were abusing FotM overtuned heroes out and his winrate will start climbing when people start playing him right
Seriously though I do think the nerfs were a bit much, he was doing his job a little too well but I think it’s his damage they should’ve nerfed and not his tankiness.
Slightly off topic but Imperius could dominate ARAM games. You ever see what a Brand of Solarion does when there’s a stim drone on him?
Nerf was definitely over done. He’s all in with long cool downs.
I think if the intention was to make him more Bruiser rather than Tank they should have at least given him more baseline/talented PvE. Maybe more towards mercenaries rather than minions to differentiate him from other Bruisers.
Part of the problem is people are still drafting him as a tank, when that aspect of his kit was nerfed the hardest. He is still fine as a bruiser. I had a fairly easy match on Volskaya as Anub with an Imperius in the bruiser role.
Yeah. If only some several people stated several times what was going to happen.
Don’t worry though, they’ll buff Holy Fervor by -5 seconds off the cooldown. That’ll totally compensate everything.
Yeah.
So he’s doing fine.
Or is this people complaining he is not OP now?
Are people gonna complain he’s to OP, and 2-3 weeks after He gets nerfed people complain he is to weak.
It’s fine that he isn’t strong for a bit.
Being a bit under 50% is perfectly fine.
Might I suggest, “OP Anonymous” support group?
He was a “tank” who could kill others under a really short period of time.
The “opness” was not “exaggerated”.
He might need some small buffs -tho I don’t think so- now that the issues he had strengthwise are gone (what was op is no longer op).
But he is a fine Hero.
The bad winrate is somewhat early to tell.
And can be due to ppl -as @Hoku said- still playing in his “tank role” which was severly nerfed, or ppl just getting used to what they can do now, or just Imp -who was really popular- cannot provide easy wins for the masses anymore.
(I personally played him recently and tho I noticed the survivability nerf, I still kicked lower parts and won.)
I wasn’t aware there were nerfs but playing him for the first time in a while yesterday felt off. Definitely not as impactful as before.
Please don’t ask for buffs for him, his kit has the lowest skill-cap in the entire game. Yes even Li Li is requires more skill than him. There’s not a single dot of dmg that he should have with that kind of low-skill req. They should just make him a Anub Arak like hero, remove his dmg all together. Change his talents to make him get rewarded with CD reductions with successfull hits to make him a CC hero. No freakin dmg buff.
If anything he should get a rework where his burst damage gets removed from the equation.
Yeah, completely disagree with that.
-His most important ability is a skill shot, and if you don’t land it you’re not very useful to your team.
-His slow is also a skill shot.
-His E needs to be managed in lanes because you don’t pick what it hits.
Not what I would call lowest skill cap.
Anything will look exaggerated after not 2 but 3 consecutive nerfs.
This is just silly, Imp was drafted as a tank, blizzard didn’t like that especially when his damage is very bursty at the same time so that was tuned down to acceptable levels.
Though I don’t like they didn’t do a powershift in the last nerf, now that’s worth a complaint.
But pretending he wasn’t in OP lean for the fact he went up a notch to be drafted as tank makes me
Impale is as easy to hit as any other ability. Experience leads to better accuracy, to a point where you will be accurate most of the time. Same thing for every other hero.
Im not saying that his abilities ain’t “skill shots” in the sense of the term “ability”.
Im saying you don’t need skill as an individual attribute as a player.
I.E Low skill-cap hero.
I mean lyrasvulture got blasted for saying imperius was op
LyrasVulture couldn’t refactor how was he OP, they got corrected.
They simply had a visceral, irrational hatred of the hero.
The issues with Imperius were always Impaling Light, and a bit too much damage on Flash of Anger(which is debatable.)
Imperius’s performance was within the realm of acceptable winrates for pretty much a whole year. The problem was his popularity.
Still disagree. Most low skillcap heroes tend to be assassins. Like Raynor, Valla, Ming. Even if you’re bad with them, you still contribute damage.
You can’t lane with Imperius without skill, you have to bully and deny globes, which inexperienced players can’t/won’t do. And you need to know when to Q in fights and who to target, initiate or follow up etc.
You probably play Imperius a lot, so it just seems natural to you.
