I'm literally in fear of posting anymore criticism

CENSORSHIP OF THE GAME ‘HEROES OF THE STORM’ IS ALLOWED ON THESE FORUMS.

Seriously, scroll through the discussions on this forum. If you read this, and nothing else, you’d find god knows how many threads talking about the game is dead, this character is ruined, someone’s leaving the game, the matchmaking is terrible, and QM is a mess… and on and on and on. All of these discussions stay focused on some aspect OF THE GAME ITSELF. If Heroes of the Storm didn’t exist, the thread wouldn’t exist. THAT’S WHY THEY AREN’T DELETED.

Now, this thread, and the other ‘censorship by mods’ threads all had two things in common:

  1. They were criticism of the MODERATORS or BLIZZARD, not Heroes of the Storm itself.

  2. Eventually they decay into discussions of whether the mods are or are not engaging in censorship, and whether or not that’s right.

The first fact is what gives them the most leeway in deleting the post off of the Heroes of the Storm discussion page. It’s simply not about the game. That’s why this thread will be done away with. The second fact is what puts the final nail in the coffin, at some point, the discussion turns to sensitive discussions that spill into the political area of discussions… that IS NOT ALLOWED. They won’t even allow the discussion to get too close to the line, for the obvious reason that this forum is supposed to be about the games these forums are for, NOT for a debate about things of a political nature.

But, hey, if you already have your mind made up, it’s made up. If you hate Blizzard with the passion and fury of a supernova, you’ll warp everything to make the facts fit. And same with the other end of the spectrum. What you WON’T do is realize the simple fact that none of the threads talk about the game, its mechanics, its characters, maps, talents, events, and you WON’T realize how close the discussions come to something expressly out of bounds on ANY gaming forums.

If you like the game. Walk away from these threads because it’s not a material or productive of the game Heroes of the Storm, let it die.

If you hate the game or it’s makers, just get out of the forums, delete the game off your hard drive, and go where you feel welcome (where-ever that might be). The fewer players interacting with the forums at all shows a dwindling passion, the fewer players in the game will show less interest, and Blizzard will either adapt or die. Why waste your time complaining that you won’t be heard? Especially if you’re convinced Blizzard won’t listen anyway?

plus, ya know “dystopians never end well”. Sure, you didn’t bring up the 1984 initially, nor were you the one I asked if they read it, but well, you sure want to stand in support of those when it suits you and act like you are familiar enough with the book to so claim its pertinent, so hence, my reply then.

But really, what sort of line is “dystopians” never end well supposed to mean? Select books were social commentary or cautionary in effect to predict concerns of the trending future, but others are just staples of the genre to sell books, so they still to ‘classic’ topes (many of which were ambiguous endings) Ya know what other genre doesn’t ‘end well’? Classic fairy tales. Some endings aren’t the direct product of the events at hand, but a trope of the tale being told, so the fallback of tl;dr to ‘dystopia’ not ending well is only a projection of saying its application due to your fixation on the concerns of ‘censorship’ as a whole, and not so much the argument as it is.

Some dystopian fiction, were concerned with ‘censorship’, but others expressed concerns that censorship wouldn’t even be needed because people would be too distracted with other things to care. People like to fallback on tropes of 1984 that were popularized through other media, but not the source itself. Its just a tl;dr

To which, the effect can be seen how you back people who you agree but, arguably, without ‘critically thinking’ about the details. That’s part of what I find indicates the double-standard at hand.

Gotta have that no-true-scotsman to ensure that feedback that you agree with is ‘legitimate’. But ya know, lets ignore some of the pesky details, and game experience/perspective in favor of backing a message on principal, rather than on execution. Or, ignore them via the same effect.

I had a post with over 100 likes and about 50 dislikes, the moment the post hit highly rated , positive 50 likes, it caught the mods attention. About 10 minutes after that happened the post was deleted and my forum access revoked for 2 weeks. “Against CoC” was the reason given nothing else. So yes blizzard does this constantly.

I got silenced and the comment deleted after I said that I am glad that Dabri is stepping down, and that he has destroyed a great game with his changes since he took over.

May want to take note of this post, because it’s highly likely that it will be deleted, you should take note that no swear words, or slurs are being used, just my opinion on a specific member of the development team.

I have received forum bans in the past for uploading a photo of match histories and asking why I played 4 games in a row with players who were 1000+ MMR below me.

I forget the exact term they used for the ban. I think they marked it down as “trolling”. I got banned for a week.

I have 7000 or so games played. Been here for 3 years. Been a Master for 3 years. I always fill roles. I do what I can to win every single game. And they are going to ban me from forums (and game, for different reasons) because I don’t think it’s fair to put Masters on a team with 4 silvers to balance MMR.

I lost 11 games in a row over the course of 3 days recently. There were several games where my ‘strongest’ teammate was a gold 5. It’s really unfair what the match maker does to “outliers”. Of course, bringing that to the attention of their staff is grounds for punishment.

Everyone is having so much fun playing HotS, that’s why the other day Forsen was streaming Barbie And Pegasus and had more viewers than all of HotS combined. How embarrassing.

Oh, you went to another thread to dishonestly imply I brought 1984 up in this thread. That would explain the run-on sentences and rambling. Also, note that the very next post after yours details exactly what many of us have referred to - the obvious censorship.

I’ll again request that we keep to the topic at hand - HotS. I won’t insult you by implying you are incapable of understanding well respected books or asking rhetorical questions meant to lecture you on rhetoric. Let’s try this - can you, in less than 1000 words, defend Bzzzzzd’s obvious forum censorship?

These forums are overwhelmingly negative, with a lot of criticism (including nonsense conspiracy theories and pointless complaining) about everything from the devs, game, mederators and these forums, including in this very thread. This makes me highly sceptical that we’re getting the whole story here… You must have done something against the CoC.

Whatever you do, OP, don’t soil yourself. It’s not worth it

Its not dishonesty to point out that you did, but it is dishonestly to now imply that you didn’t. The content you post isn’t restricted to singular topics, and what you post, alongside how you respond to people, all remain in the same sort of subtext. Its pertinent here, and its pertinent when you carry that baggage to other topics, or posters, that share your admiration.

Part of my post was even establishing that connect, but well, you didn’t want to read that cuz you assume it to be a “rambling” of run-on sentences — which is just a label for the appearance, not the content, so that you can continue the ‘dishonest’ composition of acting like you ‘read’ something, but evidently didn’t.

In this regard, however, you’re more keen on ‘attacking the person’ than you are the argument; when confronted for particulars or disagreement, you skirt details, deflect the claims, and then try to turn it on the other person though personal confrontation (I won’t insult you by [explicitly] stating something) and deriding how they wrote rather than addressing the material presented.

How [you] compose [your]self is alike that of the narrative you antagonize & classify ‘blzzrd’ to represent, so the conduct is disingenuous to perpetuate, esp given you do antagonize people with choice ‘buzz words’, and not their claims. This is more so evident in how you then try to spin things with strawman/redherrings to suit the demands of your polarized perception of what makes for ‘feedback’ or ‘criticism’ on the forum. Ya know, per your implied standards.

I have to ‘defend’ their censorship?
I don’t. Cuz…That’s not my position, that’s your deflection of what wrote. The core of your composition is ‘dishonestly’ manifest, and if you were about the ‘honesty’ you so claim, you arguably wouldn’t do that as you’d have the integrity to not compose yourself with evident double-standards.

Regarding the keeping this about HoTS? I do.

The whole crux of why I address how players compose themselves is on the basis that their conduct & concerns on the forums is indicative of how they compose themselves in-game.

Some of the feedback you use for some of the replies you’ve post are based on chat & game experience. Of what you’d said in some of those cases, details are sparse, and it tends to the the tl;dr with praise for yourself, and derision for those against you.

I’d suggest the lack of certain details the ‘how you conduct yourself’ from game experience carries a similar concern with how you chose to conduct yourself here. Deflection, superiority complex, double-standards; yea, I’m pretty sure stuff like that is going to influence some of the negative perceptions of your game experience, and if people aren’t forthright about that themselves, sometimes it takes gleaning the ‘subtext’ to get that bit of ‘honesty’.

So in that regard, getting an appraisal of details and context left out from game experience and feedback offered may take round-about ways to ascertain the perspective of the concerns conveyed.

The moment they changed the forums, they’re policing it the same way they do with Overwatch’s new forums: Deleting any solid criticism and saying it was “toxic” or “harassment”.

They’ve removed post of mine which do NOT personally attack, which talk in a CORDIAL tone about how the current ToS fining policies are abusive. I have no idea how Blizzard can maintain this game for more than a year.

THIS! SO MUCH THIS! I made a thread talking about how tanks and bruisers were being overnerfed in Overwatch and it got shut down as “a troll thread”. Lol wut? No one wants to play tanks/bruisers in the game anymore because they mostly suck now. I remember a time when people feared D.Va…now…sigh. Any criticism against changes to heroes in that game is met with threats against your account. It is absolutely disgusting.

Activision’s policies are going to kill these games.
