Well it has finally happened. I really loved Bli$$ard games in the past. I spent good money to support them (which I do not regret) by purchasing the addons they sold. Here is my rundown of games I’m playing and why I stopped.
Heroes of the Storm - I’ve spent lots of money on the game. It was fun. Now it does not have its mojo. It’s boring and uninspired. There haven’t been new maps introduced. The new heroes are good but not completely unique (there are other heroes that do what they do as good or better). There are not lots of players on anymore and the game play leaves me bored. And with the announcements it just reiterates that some new stuff will come out, the core issues with the game are going to just get worst over time. But the game isn’t fun for me anymore, playing other games like Kingdom of Hearts and such.
WoW - For me, WoW died years ago. I used to be an avid WoW player that couldn’t put it down. The best expansion for me was either Lich (which I started on) or Cata. I have lots of good memories playing those expansions. WoD was the best most recent but it is surrounded by two weak expansions that are just boring. Terrible rinse repeat copies of previous game mechanics, dry story lines and uninspired character progression mechanics (why you do what you do in WoW). So I’ve completely dropped out of WoW. I did purchase all the expansions including the most recent but only played a few levels and quit playing from boredom.
Diablo 3 - Diablo is an AMAZING game with and strong story line (in my opinion). And the life is longer than some other games I have played for fixed content. But it is fixed content. Even great stories get boring. You just end up spending your time grinding up gear on old content and at some point you just quit. I like to play it through once a year. So by the time the year is up the content is old but its like reading a sentimental book over and over.
That’s my thoughts on the Bli$$ard games I’ve been playing. I can’t believe it but I am out on the games. Its still kind of shocking. Sure, I might jump into heroes at some point but it won’t be hours long play. OR I might pick up diablo a year from now and play through again. BUT I won’t be playing like I used to with the current states of the games that blizzard provides. I have lots of strong feelings about the corporate decisions that the corporation is making. But if you remove the heart from the games (money and resources to develop quality content) and am relying on the existing content to build future revenues. I’m sorry, but in the gaming industry another gaming company that is willing to put in money and effort into a game will get the business. Blizzard has already seen money spent on games to them drop dramatically so the minuscule amount I gave last year will not mean much to them when I don’t give them any money this year.
Of course I know there are others that LOVE the bli$$ard franchises as they are and think the work done on them are wonderful. My opinion is my own and I’m just sharing why I won’t be spending time or money on Blizzard games for now.
Yeah, I’m kinda phasing Blizzard games out of my life as well. Maybe I’ll come back later to play Overwatch or Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2 Custom Games.
I’m picking up League of Legends, though. It seems to have improved since the last time I tried it (they reworked the rune and mastery systems to make them less annoying and more interesting, for one).
Maybe it’s just because I still had friends to raid with during WoD, but I still enjoyed it way more than BfA, despite being nearly devoid of content. The environments were beautiful compared to the drab colors of Kul Tiras, the music was excellent, and the raids were well-designed and interesting.
BfA is just utterly dull. Every aspect of the game just feels like a worse version of what they did in Legion. It feels like they didn’t really improve on anything from Legion, and the new features they did add were lackluster to say the least. It made me wonder why they launched the expansion so soon when it clearly wasn’t even close to being ready. They probably would have kept more subs if they just delayed BfA and let everyone play Legion for six more months.
1st of all, take everything you read on the internet with a mountain-full spoon of salt.
Example: Anthem isnt as crappy as everyone makes it out to seem. I have a good PC, load times are a non-issue. Combat feels smooth and strong. Yes the story sucks - but I dont play it for that.
Now as for FO76, I was on the hate it bandwagon at 1st too – then I played it and I actually really enjoyed it. It has some quirks here and there, but so does everything Bethesda makes. FO76 is kind of a little different like how ESO is different from TES:Skyrim. Same but different.
If you do enjoy Fallout games, I would suggest you give it a try. Other than the random griefer here and there, it isnt too bad. Plus you can always log out, log back in and be in a diff server.
But what makes FO76 a great game, is playing with a friend or two. It really is a social game, which is kind of odd since everyone is wiped off the face of the earth.
I suggest you check it out.

than why play it then? What’s the point of playing a fallout game if the story is bad? The gunplay is nothing special that can’t be found elsewhere that’s for sure.
Well, what I take issue with is that Anthem doesn’t really do anything to stand out from the crowd. What does it offer that Warframe and Destiny 2 don’t? From my point of view, it offers jetpacks, combo attacks… and that’s it.
I really don’t have much interest in investing $60 in a generic looter-shooter. I can always just log in to Warframe when I want to scratch that itch.
Ok, I donno if you are trying to be a news anchor for CNN, but you total took that out of context. In that paragraph I was talking about ANTHEM not Fallout76.
As for FO76, I like the story – the story is what you make of it yourself. You are leaving a fault where everyone (human) who wants inside the vault is dead. There is a tad more reading than I like, but if you take the reading with the environment you get a nice story.
