I'm at my wits end

For context there is a ‘player’ (I use that term loosely) who only plays tracer and spends the entire game running into mercs or towers to die so he can throw the game. I kid you not he has been doing this for at least a year if he gets banned he just makes a new account. Is there nothing that can be done about this?

As long game is free to play and the troll has alot of free time to spend making new accounts and do it all over again then no. Game has no real punishment for people that had his account banned other then losing cosmetics and heroes they unlucked.

As QueenBWthe3 said, not really anything you can do.

Except play SL and get to a rank where this troll can’t play. Making an account is easy, making a high rank account is not

If that feeder ever types anything btw, report him/her for Abusive Chat. That’s the fastest way to get them removed from the game as the other report categories are way too slow or don’t work.

Why do you keep bumping into this person?

Probably a low pop server.

You are probably right, it is rather odd to me that this one player keeps getting on their nerves so much

Makes me feel like they are friends with this Tracer in real life or something

So which modes and which regions are you meeting this Tracer on OP?

Some regions are so small that they do run into the same few people. Threads about it were enough to make me aware of it.

Doubt there’s some friendly duo making life hell for OP. Could just be 1 person on a low pop server dealing damage.

Well I play on Americas and Europe and have yet to keep bumping into the same people enough to get annoyed by it

I am very curious about the servers and regions that OP is playing in

Well, those are not the only servers. The servers you mention are high pop servers.

I’m aware there’s an AZN server which I assume includes Asian countries and I think there’s a brazil server as well, also low pop.

What is an AZN server?

Ayeziza server?

I play on Australian or oceania or whatever servers which I assume are decently low pop as I remember quite a few player’s names, but don’t get me wrong I admire the dedication this tracer has. I’m more irritated at blizz that allows this to go on.

Man you’re literally stuck on an island gameplay-wise

You should come on out to Americas or Europe where this problem is almost non-existent

There are various problems with migrating from Aus to EU or USA.
(I play on Australia server myself)

  1. The biggest one, ping. Ping goes easily to 500+ when playing on overseas servers.
  2. You lose your current account and all progress on it. You could grind levels and buy skins/mounts again but it’d be years worth of effort down the drain.
  3. The level of play on EU is massively more difficult because there has been more competition for 8 years and the players have become way better at the game in general.

Aussie players even in SL generally take the game in a very relaxed manner and are not good at playing the game ‘seriously’. Our nearest region skill wise would be Singapore which has similarly casual players in both Storm League and QM/ARAM.

I don’t think an Aussie team ever qualified for any advanced games in HGC back in the day.

But yeah for now, we are stuck with the same 30-50 players every day. There aren’t any new Australian players coming in and all the names on the server are known by now.

I think you only lose your account progress when switching between major regions like Americas, Europe and Asia

Australians should technically be playing in the Americas Region in just a different server so they could just switch their preferred server in settings without losing their progress

I think he means Australia New Zealand.

But as someone from Belize who also plays on EU occassionally, I also agree it sucks for someone accustomed to simpler matches. Not that I have anything against tryhards, but EU feels comparable to Koreans in terms of difficulty.

Their gold players are how a local dia or master plays here, to be blunt. I’m platinum and did not enjoy playing QM on Europe against a bunch of randoms because it seemed like either they are coordinating the game on voice or are super high MMR smurfs just farming us for free kills.

That’s why I’d prefer to stay on Central America server. But if that’s not an option and the server dies, I’ll be forced to play USA.

Wow, I mainly played on Europe so this feels like a huge compliment

I found the games to be rather mild when it came to difficulty

I guess I just got used to them

o.o

EU storm league is definitely the toughest one out of all the storm leagues, since the Korean one is pretty inactive now. Which is to be expected because it has always had the biggest player base, leading to gradually toughening matches.

There are also remnants of ex professional players and top grand masters who streamed the game back in the day and still play in the upper to top ranks. US has a few like Fan but not as many.

QM seems the same quality on all servers. I have tried most of the servers out of curiosity, though as said above ping and lag make it impossible to really enjoy a region that is far away from your home country.

So simply moving away from a low pop server like Australia to US or EU is not viable for most players.

It is if they improve their skills

What exactly is stopping them from doing so?

This is true, I also think that adding the Mega Hero Bundles created the unintentional side effect of making this kind of behaviour more prevent. In the past, there would be more of a grind for someone to make a new account, now at level 25 they can get 20 heroes for free. This makes it very easy for those who like to troll ranked matches.

For the record, I think the Mega Hero Bundle is on balance a very good thing, but IMO, I have noticed more troll accounts since it was added back a year or so ago.
