Patch 50.0 says, “Hold my beer.”

IGN knows best, I mean look at the 7 / 10 they gave WC3.

They obviously can just see things that we cant.

And do you know why you find games in 10 seconds or do I have to spill beans for this?

I don’t think that smurfs become necessarily less common with more players. It’s the biggest concern and complaint that Dota players have had for the past few years as well. However a bigger population would obviously decrease queue times even further, which would especially help on minor servers.

dead you say?? i’ve played since alpha and play most days and always get a match in around 30 seconds… you people are living in some dream world.

HOTS is quite healthy in the EU, but you know things are bad when you read in the Patch notes they are combining some US servers to improve the quality of ranked matches. It’s hardly a dead game, but as you say, games like this really shine and thrive with a large active player population.

It probably feels dead to those on SEA servers, Brazil and so on.

That’s not really what that change was about, but more making sure that high ranked players, especially in Masters and GMs, have a better chance of being matched against other high ranked players, instead of low Diamonds and Plats. McIntyre described it fairly well in one of his recent Heroes Hearth videos.

For the most part, I have rarely had long waits for matches in SL, and very rarely seen rainbow teams.

You mean WC3 Reforged.

There is a very, very important distinction between WC3 and WC3:reforged.

I’ve never seen numbers being split in groups of 4 digits before… It makes it hard to read…
Wait, thats 560 million seconds?! It takes over 17 years to find a HL match? Lucky I’m a VsAI player, then :stuck_out_tongue:

Can’t trust IGN when they make a fake review, can’t trust them when they make a positive review either.

In the notes it said the changes were made specifically to speed up queues for masters and above. You’re probably correct about everything, but they haven’t needed to make these changes before now.

The way McIntyre described it, high ranked players have always had the issue. Fan also mentioned it in one of his streams, how there were a number of GMs and ex-HGC pros he never played, because they only played on Central, while he only played on West. This was due to ping more than anything else. They didn’t make this change earlier because it was only very recently they figured out a way to deal with the ping issue.

I honestly don’t think NA has a population problem, even with things spread between two servers. I do agree that the population is certainly not as healthy as it was several years ago, but I don’t think it is to a crisis point yet. At least I haven’t noticed it impacting the matches I play.

Hots is dead is just something people are spamming in general chat now but the very same players still log in and play the game. They can say what they want about the game but in the end they cant get them self to delete the game for good.

I’ve seen several forum posters who have made those “this game is dead and goodbye posts” still in game playing years after.

I wasn’t going that far, like you I think the population has declined a little. Thanks for sharing what McIntyre said, it explains the situation more clearly.

lol dang I forgot to edit the WC3 part. I changed that 9.3 /10 to a 7 / 10 because I was talking about WC3 reforged then completely forgot to edit that last part.

Then again idk 9.3 / 10 seems a bit low

In total I would agree and also highly appreciate that Blizzard continues. But there is still a lot room of improvement especially when it comes to match quality.

This highly appreciate that IGN is far from dead I thank that review will be nonstop & I could support their heroes from StarCraft.

Sports Beat I want that IGN reviews will be unstoppable! I want it.

Hots is the best moba out there. Even if people think it’s dead. It is still far superior in mechanics, graphics and game design. This game is about team fights, team work, and coordination.
