I keep getting conflicting answers on this. it would be useful to know, since I have to mute so many toxic players, if they can still hear my professional battle calls, etc.

Yes. I’ve been on the receiving end of “just mute him, I already did” more than once.

eh, plenty of people say they muted you when they didn’t, just to play “mind games” or whatecer.
Mute works both ways, if I mute you, you can’t see my chat either.
Edit: Source, getting muted by someone, then seeing my team responding to the muter in chat.

Next time you see two people constantly typing in match, ask one of them to mute you. You’ll see it in action.

I’m sure people can see your chat if you mute them. I know this from watching replays where someone I’ve muted will respond to something I’ve said to another player.

Yes. If you mute them, they can still see your chat (Unless they have muted you as well). But you can’t see theirs (That’s the whole point of muting someone).
