The model Mephisto got for this game is one of the worst ones they did, they made him look goofy.

- Mephisto’s appearance differs between Diablo II and Diablo III (and associated artwork, such as that found in Book of Cain. This can be attritutable to either a redesign, or Diablo III showing his true form rather than that of a possessed human.
A third version of Mephisto is seen in Heroes of the Storm, which appears to combine elements of the two designs. Lines from Mephisto in the game indicate that this is an intermediary form (his true form overcoming Sankekur’s), hinting that the Diablo III version is his true form.

It’s a bit late, when his model for HOTS was first released there was a flood of posts about this. Perhaps just hope for a new skin for him when D4 is eventually released.

I remember when Alex got released. Everyone hating they made her fat thick woman while she is more thin and less clothed in WoW.
Maybe Hots team just had a plan on how thier model should look like in Hots ?

I would take the Diablo 3 artwork Mephisto, that one looks cool at least.
Anything other then evil little shrimp we got here.
Use the Diablo 2 or Diablo 3 art Mephisto, Why did they go all freeform with him here? When they did not do that for anyone else?? Picture them doing that for like Deathwing or anyone else, if they made their own version of Deathwing making it a combo of his look from Warcraft 2 and WoW. Yeah, would not happen.

I remember that, epic long rant threads about how they had made her “ugly” and just some people really upset Alex wasn’t true to her look in WoW. The Alex reveal was the favorite of my husbands, he called me over saying “look she can turn into a blooming dragon!” That along with Ragnaros and his Molten Core are really outstanding visual features of HOTS heroes. I miss those old Hero Trailers.
There is a place on the internet for everything, fortunately you usually have to seek it out, it’s rare to just stumble across it.

You mean, when they went ‘freeform’ with most everyone else.
Or the difference between an M rated game and a T rated one, or the international considerations the game has but all all skeletal characters. People may glance at what they think superficial changes to other models, but the majority of the cast take creative liberties to get the style of the game to have characters look like they’re all from one IP instead of various different styles, proportions, color and ambience.

Also, why keep the same model as WoW if ALL the models in WoW are exactly the same…

If they add Ysera to this game I do hope they will keep her updated WoW model. I dont want her in a model that dont suit her.
I will repeat what I have many times already in these threads. Mephisto’s HotS design is purposely different from his actual design so as to pass the censorship of various countries. HotS was made to be country neutral so need the minimal amount of localised censorship. This policy is what allow the team to be so productive back when it had a large budget.
The result of this is that to pass censorship in some Asian countries various skeletal or undead models were redesigned to look less human. This includes Kel Thuzard and Mephisto. Other examples of similar censorship was the removal of Tychus’s and Gazlowe’s cigars.
