Anyone else experience this? If I win I should rank up right?
I lose all my placements and I get in the same rank with almost the same points that I had on the pre-season.
what is the point of placements if they don’t do what they are designed to do…
They’re doing it fine, but there was no actual reset, you just kind of pick up where you left off, but this time MMR is factored in differently
i think your MMR was lower in whatever rank you was and that’s what resulted in placing you in lower rank. i can’t confirm that for a fact but that’s just what i think might cause it

the problem is I don’t belong in the division that I was placed. I hard carried those 3 games
may i ask what rank you got and what winrate you had in preseason? and what rank you got now?
I ended last season in plat 1 and now I am in plat 2. My winrate was less than 50% (I think like 48%) because of teammates who threw (sounds whiny but its the truth). I’ve been mid/high diamond for a few seasons and it just sucks to be stuck here with teammates that hard throw.
so from plat 1 preseason to plat 2 in season 1 but you had lower than 50% winrate which is most likely what caused you to not get the exact rank as what you ended with in preseason. and yes i know plat and diamond games are hell even master games some times are horrible but we can’t help it we just have to try our best to win!

yup when people see my win-rate they just assume I deserve a low rank. some games are unwinnable and too bad there is no way to show that. If i had just won those 3 games normally I would be D5 by now. I just assumed that by winning placement games I would be placed where I should be (hence “placement games”)
winrate doesn’t really point out that you’re not good or can’t win games. since it’s a team game the fault goes to the whole team not just 1 player for losing it plus it doesn’t mean you didn’t try to win yeah i some times try my best to win games but unfortunately my team want to brawl and that’s in ranked not QM or Unranked i don’t understand how they think some times but i just have to move on and win after it without this specific team
um I would disagree. 1 player can totally lose a game for you (ex. if they get caught post 20). I know that this is just part of the game and maybe I just shouldn’t play it lol
yes yes 1 player can lose you the game for sure but i meant for usual losses as everyone not caring about anything and just insist on fighting or some horrible boss calls that result in throws etc. i know 1 player can ruin your whole game and make you lose but i was just talking in general not about that specifically
well at the end of the day I have a 100% win-rate this season and I am just waiting to get 180 points if I win and lose 220 points when I lose lol. You would be surprised at the decisions of my teammates, mainly not boss calls but literal AFK/trolls/intentional feeders. Feelsbadman
afk and trolling and feeding that’s always something you can report and as they continue doing that and getting reported for it they’ll get a juicy ban. and you won’t meet them any sooner in your league after cause creating smurf won’t send you to plat or diamond or higher even if you win all games.
however i hope nobody deals with trolls and all that type of horrible player’s in their games

i went up one division from my ending place last season. still in the same league though which is to be expected i suppose. placement matches have never really been drastic up and down unless you are a new account.
thats also why they made it 3 placements instead of 10. the placement matches didnt really feel meaningful for many ppl and doing 10 of them was annoying.

that’s interesting went up in rank with 2 - 1 man i can’t wait to get back home to play i miss HOTS so much
possibly this is just a case of MMR<->Rank mismatching a good bit? and then you got demoted rather than it staying in a similar area to where you were.
