I want to give a good tip

Short intro: Actively Cancel/Abort your current target and switch to a different target.

There are scenarios, where YOU and/or 1-2 of your allies chase or tries to cap an objective.
The opponents are split, fighting from 2 fronts but so is YOUR team… fighting THEM in those 2 fronts.

But… Here’s the thing… Your opponents “split” line up is stronger than YOUR teams “split” line up. Which means if you DONT “Cancel/Abort” your current target to redirect it to help the other “front”. Your team will lose the team-fight fully.

Always remember every match… that just because you “chose” a target to attack. It doesn’t mean that you HAVE to stick to that choice… you can actively change the target to a more important direction during the heat of battle.

Alot/some of you will know this already. This is for those who don’t… Doing something as simple as canceling and redirecting your focus can save team-fights and sometimes even the entire match.

I know, but it’s a lot to ask from players below ~master rank. Tunnel visioning is generally the norm and rule in casual games. I tunnel vision frequently and keep hitting a target I previously spent cooldowns on, instead of finishing off a low HP runner that I could kill with a few autos.

These things add up and effect your win ratio/ranking (negatively).

It also greatly helps to have voice chat while changing targets in a fast paced fight. Pings are often missed and there is no time to write messages in the text chat.

In my SL experience, randoms do not use ingame voice chat to coordinate ganks, targets during a teamfight etc. I have seen some streams where people do, but those are of very high ranking games.

The worst is when all dmg dealers are splitting up trying to have a 1v1 with someone and then die insteed of everyone attacking the same target. And then both healer and tank gets spam pinged for not helping them.

Illidan players are the worst. Just becasue they got self healing then they think they can 1v3 the other team and run miles away from the tank and his healer and then surprice Pikachu face when he dies.

I also get alot of people who love having his tank run through 100 of minions becasue some dumb dmg dealer are moving in circles with him and force him to take long roads to get up to him. Getting dismounted by minion waves on the way up to him just to watch him die when you finally gt up to him and then you get pinged by the angry todler.

They dont unless its thier friends. Fan are on voice with Jun when he play with him but other then that he plays alone with no voice and only write gg when game is over.

Do you think these players care? they don’t . they just smash keys randomly to see if something works .

Seen it too many times, heck I’ve done it myself thinking I can survive the beating with evasion + self healing but it never works.

I think this Illidan behavior results from the few rare Illidan’s who can 1vs3 and emerge the victor in that scenario.

The thing is, that’s very rare and many factors have to be in place for the Illidan player for that strategy to pay off. The Illidan must be highly skilled, the Illidan must be more skilled (or at least equal) than their opponent, the opponents team lacks hard CC to peel him, it usually helps if the Illidan’s team is up a talent level and so on.

I’ve seen beastly Illidan players pull this off, discounting those wearing a cute Abby hat, but like Chen mains the highly skilled Illidan player is a rare breed in my personal experience in both QM and Ranked.

Agree with this. I think many stars have to align like you said.

I myself have pulled off some good plays with illidan but those games were lacking hard cc, and playing against skill shot mages so I was able to bob and weave while chipping away at their hp.

I think I’ve ran across a few ridiculously hood Chen players that made Chen look OP.

but when you manage those times and go 1v3, it feels so fng good. When you take the dmg 125% increase on your slide, and three little squishies try to kill you, they stack up, and then get deleted? Omfg, so guuuudddd
