Can we Rework Diablo, so we can get an option (Hybrid like varian) for a true Dps option.
Diablos playing style is so insanely stale at this point, (in my opinion of course.) and
I dont like the idea that diablo cant do damage, his flames doing absolutely no dmg at all is silly, and his gameplay can get pretty stale. (Rework Fire stomp to actually be like it was in the games, a full ring.)
(Maybe get rid of apocalypse and replace with Armageddon from uber diablo 2.
I love the idea of flooding the screen with fire and actually doing damage and not just a big dumb Smorc tank all the time.
(And give diablo a fear active at 20, come on, hes the lord of terror.)
What is the goal of W build then? Why his AA build is supposed to do dmg, but not W?
Note: Just because you don’t like W build and prefer AA-build, doesn’t mean W shouldn’t able to do dmg. If we check HP, then we see that his AA build is most popular one. While I wouldn’t say it’s too strong, because the winrate doesn’t reflect it, but it would be nice if his other builds got get some love too… But not by much his talents seems “overall balanced”, just not as popular as AA build that’s weird, but I guess that’s personal preference.
He’s a tank. He isn’t supposed to be assassine. I could agree that his W build should be on par with his AA build, but he shouldn’t have assassines-like damage, because he’s a tank. Why would you need assassines, if your tank is able to do the same job?
I’m not disliking W build. It just doesn’t do much dmg. It’s for selfsustain, poke, and after a certain lvl it can debuff and ramp up your Heroic dmg. But the W ability itself shouldn’t do much dmg, because it’s an aoe that heals you on a Tank. It can’t do everything.
Wanting buffs for some underused/-performing talents is okay. Wanting Diablo to deal high dmg (what the @Op wants) us not.
Tanks are not for high dmg.
Btw, it’s not AA build that deals a lot of dmg, just that the lvl 7 does, and increased AA speed is also nice for sustain dmg.
But Q build also deals good dmg.
And regardless of build, LB is heavy dmg.
Everytime Diablo slams me into a wall all I can think about is being pinned by the Lord of Terror in the rain while he angrily professes his undying love to me. Like a scene from romantic dramas.
W is his utility/poke build. When you have a strong backline and you just want to make space, W is good for that. I also like W into a lot of CC, where a hard engage can normally get you killed. AA build is good for sustained damage and self-sustain, especially against a heavy front line. It is also the build that works just about any time, so is a safe choice in most matches.
Q build can still do a surprising amount of damage, but it is much more map and comp dependent than his other builds, so you don’t see it very often. Just make sure you finish the Q quest at 13 quickly, and the increased damage taken by your target can delete squishies. I love this build on TotSQ, as there are walls everywhere, and the fact that people basically self-root when they channel makes it easy to set up wallbangs. Remember, Q can go through walls, so as long as you have vision, you can slam people around from unexpected angles.
AA build for sustained single target damage
Q build for single target burst
W for AoE sustained damage (if combined with the lvl 13 spell power talent, lightning breath can actually chunk)
If you’re looking to just have impressive chart numbers by the end of the match, W build is your best bet.
What i love about the current fire stomp is the shot gun mechanic.
I remember when it used to spread out in all angles, it didn’t matter how many flames hit someone. A target could only get hit once going out and once (if talented) going back in.
