Not like I was with someone and they DC’ed and we got an AI in their place. No it was like it joined my group, and was a pre-programmed thing from the start.
I was already with someone when this…“thing” joined us. I thought it was a friend of my friend so I didn’t questioned it until my friend asked it “are you a smurf or do I need to get on Garry to throw you out of danger?”
My brain was slowly going “waiit a minute!?”
I was like ok the account is only lv 2 and I told my buddy it might be a smurf from an in-game chat channel I’m part of
I normally don’t let pure randos just join me out of the blue but so much time passed it was too awkward to make a move on it so we just let whoever or whatever it was stay with us.
The “thing” was on Jaina and whatever it was turned to it wasn’t doing that thing where it just dodges every ground hazard and skill shot but also wasn’t running away back to base to heal after getting damage. It also wasn’t playing like a real “new player” either
In order for this thing to fully trick someone like me into thinking it’s human I would have to have never played in AI mode or never played with other humans and never played with the AI after someone DC’s.
But my friend put droughts in my head going “Maybe it’s a new player from LOL”
I brought up it hasn’t said anything in party chat (I’ll have to watch the replay just to check team chat) My friend said it didn’t say anything in team but he’s not 100%
The way it throws it’s ult and when it throws it’s ult and gets gets super aggro on anything at low health, it don’t look like human play. I’m going to share the replay with Hoku and a few others to get their opinion on this. It was kinda of chill between team fights but willing to help kill in lanes but absolutely no chill (funny cause it’s Jaina) in team fights.
I’m bummed out at the thought it might have been a bot and not a human. I’d love a new blood thirsty partner to group with. I even made a cringe joke to try to break the silence between us but nope nothing!

My first assumption with stories like this is it’s a little kid, like six or seven. Maybe they have their own Battlenet account but their parent has HotS installed, and they just sort of wandered into the game unsupervised. I used to do stuff like that all the time, booting up WoW on my dad’s account and making random alts.

That little kid was pulling off the shmooths for a level 2 account with only three or four games played before it joined us. The thing is, it’s normal for new players to step out of line and get ganked or whatever but that behavior is a problem through out a match. This “new” Jaina knew to chill while in lane but go ham in team fights? I feel like most players who’s been around don’t even do that.
I had a few people watch the replay and a teammate pointed out it threw it’s spells in a spot where the enemy team could come in to interrupt our objective channel.
Kind of sus for a true new player to have that kind of foresight.
A lot of the time in team fights it would just walk up into the enemy team like a Uther about hammer up, throws down it’s ult and spells and ice block on the spot.
I’m like wth1?..I don’t think I’ve ever been with a jaina who’s pulled that off so well, if I have, it’s been years. I’m really hope this was a human, I don’t want to admit I learned something from a bot (to be fair to me I don’t mess with jaina) but after seeing that, I kind of want to mess with Jaina.
Also I liked that it played Jaina the way I play deathwing in team fights. Once it starts only fight, no run, in your face and body block.
Perhaps it was a lower skilled smurf? There is also the chance it was a new player who has experience with the MOBA genre. A bot makes for a more interesting and amusing story, I rather enjoyed reading your OP.

Yeah, I think the big giveaway with bots is they sort of just spam their abilities without rhyme or reason. Pretty sure I played with a bot, but with Medivh it was pretty easy to tell. They would just use their guardian shield whenever they engaged regardless if anyone was being hit and portal automatically regardless if anyone needed it or not and never went in the portals. Basically if in range and ability isn’t on CD, the bots use it.
With Jaina it might be a bit more difficult to tell since all the ranges of the spells are different, but if they follow up with ice block no matter what, yeah that’s pretty sus.
Yeah, the thing is they would do that -walk up- even if they didn’t have access to ice block as in unlocked it to use. If I didn’t have my pull up (I was on andy) or wasn’t paying attention it was just going to walk up ult and die if we didn’t make a bunch of kills first.
I feel like I’ve played enough to see that real humans going to have a few bad habits shown through out a match seems sus to have bad positioning in team fights -only after getting ring of frost right?
It was in party with us and didn’t tell us a battle plan of “hey I’m going to face tank with me ult help get me out or heal me”
Before 10 it plays pretty docile will go for a kill if target hp is low all pretty normal until 10 when it goes HAM until we win or lose (hot take, personal opinion, thing that’s going to cancel me) i think all my team mates should live by this strategy
