We already looking at 3 weeks before an overperformer like Xul is fixed. I can’t imagine that getting extended for another couple weeks. At the very minimum, a hotfix for him should be pushed out ASAP and I would hope by Tuesday.
Not to minimize your love of the game.
But if the pandemic goes all the way to game development, an overtuned hero in this game will be the least of our concerns.
The pandemic has already affected game development… E3 was canceled, and blizzard is now implementing work from home policies. This will definitely slow things down.
At this rate this is bad karma.
I can live without updates during this time, it’s the least of our problems. People just need to try to remain calm, kind and safe.
Don’t let the word pandemic lead to panic. Next to this disease, this game is of minimal importance, so let’s prioritize things as they should be. Blizz has people working from home and we already know their longstanding tradition of missing deadlines. Expect that. In fact, expect it from everyone you ask for a service. They’re all going to be understaffed, undersupplied, and trying to manage.
And that’s ok. You plan ahead. You take care of your needs proactively instead of relying on someone to hand deliver stuff to you. And it’s going to be a few months. They’re hoping it settles down by the summer.
Set your expectations accordingly. Plan ahead, and you’ll be fine. The game will still be here. If Xul’s OP, in your opinion, feel free to play him and farm some easy wins.
This is really the most important message medical authorities have been trying to impress on people. The crazy panic buying of food and other goods, creating artificial and unnecessary shortages in essential items is a way to accelerate the spread of the virus.
As you said, many companies are sending people to work from home. It’s very fortunate we live in a world where we so many people have access to the intent and can do so.
It will be and I know I’ve been scoring a few wins with Xul in SL. ![]()
They haven’t hotfixed Samuro and his Phantom Pain talent which allows him to have buffed criticals 100% of the time and that has been around longer…
Yeah let’s hotfix xul superfast without knowing what should be tuned if he even needs to be nerfed a lot in the first place.
Yes you could already 1v4 or 1v5 QM idiots who stayed in skeletal mages while you W them to death before.
While it would suck for morale/team overall… game development is one of the jobs that, from my understanding, is “easy” to be done from home.
That being said, the distribution system for the company I work for is hammered.
I’m looking at near 80hr/week currently. ![]()
So even if th keep patching i won’t be able to play ![]()
I think the new cadence is here because the devs likely burned themselves out trying to cram the winter event and DW for blizzcon.
Of course the pandemic also has its effect.
0 to 0 ? Nah I think it will stay the same
So which alternate reality did I wake up in where Xul is considered overpowered?
Do you people live in some communist country? Xul is top wnrate at every single level.
So we can’t hotfix the bug where his skeletons are exploding twice???
Well they could but would people accept only this when some would expect him to get nerfed to the ground along with the hotfix?
Who cares what people woud accept or think… Just fix his bug and see where he goes from there.
Would be nice if it worked like that but it does not.
It depends on how secretive they are of their material.
I can work from home, but not with any secret documents. I’m not sure how Blizz consider their game design data.
Ummm, you make it sound like this is a bad thing… People can potentially spread the virus and are sent home to prevent this. Peoples lives are at risk, but your precious hero patches gotta get done…
You mixed a Global problem that is real with a First World problem.
The title should read: I really hope the Devs are safe and healthy at home while they work on improving the game.
Maybe this will give more time for Devs to learn how to communicate with their playerbase, from the safety of their home.
I didn’t read what Joat said, but now I did, and I second his/her opinion.
