I have a WoW question. I have to ask here because it won’t let me post on WoW forums because I have to be a WoW player and I’m not.
So my question is- why is Arthas a fire type of hero in the latest cinematic? He used to be frost type. And he did turn from fire to frost, to fight Sylvanas. What’s the thing? Also, where’s his frostmourne? What is that new hammer weapon he’s using?

The fire dude in the cinematic is not Arthas. That is bolivar fordragon, who became the next lich king after we all kicked Arthas’ butt and killed him.
I don’t remember what happened to frostmorne (I know it got broken at some point), but bolivar doesn’t have it and that’s why he is using a mace.

It is broken by Tirion Fordringer using Ashbringer at the very end of the Lich King fight in the ICC raid. Shards of the broken Frostmourne are used to forge the DK artifact weapon in Legion, so even if Bolvar wanted to use it, he couldn’t, as someone (well, hundreds of thousands of someones, this bothers me) has it.

The bane of MMORPGS, you have no way to make stuff actually unique even if it makes no sense to duplicate a story-related item endlessly.
Oh, I understand from a game design standpoint why it was done, I just don’t like it. The whole, “You are the most amazing thing ever! Wow!” player experience is just weird to me, especially in an MMORPG.
Yeah, no. I am just a big cow thing that likes to pick flowers. I only fought Sargeras because my raid leader needed another healer.

Once upon a time there was a noble human warrior that got killed by the Forsaken’s Blight, than burnt with the Red Dragons’ cleansing flames and got the Helmet of Domination so Tirion can live.

That isn’t Arthas, that is Bolvar, the person who took the Lich Kings crown after Arthas died which you can see here
Bolvar is using frostflame I think or something similar, a spell you can see in Ice Crown Ciatedal as early as the first boss Marrowgar and is probalby comining it with his affliction from the Red Dragons that occured during the Wrath Gate cinematic.
Does that clear it up abit?
As someone who literally used the Pen Name Ashbringer36 for a time when writing fanfiction I concur what they did to all those artifacts by letting players acquire them with such ease was disgraceful
Now if they had used a similar system to Artiacts and let us forge our own artifact weapons… now that is something IC an get behind.
