I modded Samuro into Crypt of the Necrodancer

I come back with yet again an another Assets replacement mod, after the overwhelming positive feedback from the previous mod that was posted on the Forums and Reddit.

Samuro, the Blademaster, the last remaining blademaster to wear the banner of the Burning Blade, is on a warrior’s pilgrimage in search of vengeance and redemption for his fallen clan. It will be a long journey, but he has sworn an oath to restore his clan’s honor.

Samuro replaces Diamond and Cadence.

Cadence mode is the default experience, no restrictions whatsoever.

While playing as Diamond mode (which what Samuro was built upon) the player can move diagonally using special keys that are used for Spelld and Items, Samuro has a very limited item pool, cannot use mana based spells or wide attack weapons, items like Backpacks and Weapon Holsters are removed, additionally they cannot throw their weapon.

This makes Samuro majority of his attacks physical like in HotS with the few exceptions of Tomes and Scrolls (which are technically hard to find)

You mad.
Good job. I love pixeling and do some pixel work myself when I have some free time. Samuro looks great.

Good job Sami, I like it.

I don’t have the game though, but maybe I’ll get it someday.

Also, I bought the game 4 days ago. But I think it was wasted money as I can’t get past the 2nd room…

Best advice is I can give is to learn the enemies pattern and it should be a cake walk from that point, I think most people struggle against Red Dragons but there’s a way to deal with it even a very tight 2 x 2 square area.

Otherwise, if you have issues with Cadence, Bard exists, he’s the best way to practice the game and he helped me a lot especially how stupid Zone 4 can be for some.

Bard removes the entire selling point of the game, the rhythm movement, however he’s a great way to learn how each enemy behaves.

Otherwise, learning how to buffer movement like standing still, digging, consuming items is also a tactic to avoid being brutally murdered in 2 seconds especially against enemies who move every beat instead of 2.

The only thing you lose if you break rhythm is gold right?

That and if you have any obsidian type items like a weapon or armor, they will be less effective as they rely heavily on your multiplier.

Basically, Obsidian Armor would become 0.5 armor like Leather instead of 1.5 when multiplier is max, Weapons would deal 1 damage instead of 3.

k. Game didn’t make that obvious.

One of reasons why I love Sami - he makes really good things that people can enjoy, no matter how much time it takes.

Love it!

He didn’t make me a solar powered lamp. I’ve wanted one forever.

(Also a re-work of TLV where you have to switch Viking in rhythm with a randomly selected music. You lose 100xp everytime you miss a beat)

I wish I could but this game barely support scripting in general, if it did I would totally try doing something like where you swap characters around during mid game.

But as of where it stands, it only supports assets replacements and some slight number adjustment in the provided XML file.
