make the skins/getting gems easier, people would enjoy to play the game more if they could get a skin or two a week nowdays its almost impossible for new players to get anything cool good looking since u dont get anymore at lvl 5 1000 gems, and only at 25 u get 150 then 150 at 50 75 and so on on and remove the useless stuff form boxes …
It’s easy enough to get everything in this game. The last thing people could complain about are skins being too hard to get. You get most of them in chests.
If you want the skins so bad, just buy gems.

The game should be fun as is, and if you care about cosmetics that much, then buy gems.
its more about to bring more people to play it i doubt it has montly online of 10k, tis dying and they doing nothing to revive such a good game
New players don’t really get shards, and most items are for heroes they don’t play (yet).
Some skins are relatively cheap, but there are many for 1200 gems / 1800+ shards.
It’s kind of okay to spend 10-20€ even on an old game to unlock everything, but it gets quite silly beyond that. (Blizzard implemented itself as the boss of the goblin domain in D3.)
As for grinding, it gets fine around account level 1000… 
maybe 500 already.
As long as the definition of fine is 1-3 items per season.
Skins (and mounts) are pretty rare. By now I have about half of them.
I would agree that default skins are nice and authentic indeed, but I use the Lunar Red skins quite consistently, so I’d be caught a liar.
The one thing in favor of boxes - they make each account a little unique.

I have an alternate account. I had unlocked everything I wanted shortly before Lvl 400.
But if people’s goal is to unlock everything. They can’t be surprised that it would take time.
You get skins in loot chests all the time. Besides the legendary ones, they aren’t that rare. It’s just the luck of getting exactly the one you want. But a skin may make a player try a new character, which isn’t a bad thing.

It has slowed down since they ceased with the holiday events that allowed people to get cosmetics, but on the other side of the coin there hasn’t been any new cosmetics for years. So it kinda balances out a bit.
For most people they might go out of their way to get a skin or two, a mount, and maybe some other things on a hero they really like, otherwise they’ll gradually get stuff as they level up. Especially if they do not tunnel a hero past level 15. Which if you get every hero to level 15 that is 1,350 levels right there.
Eventually people get to the point where they just hoard gold, shards, gems, and loot boxs because they already have what they want and are content.

It honestly felt like they were doing everything to discourage players from spending money.
I admit I did get Tracer’s OSV-03 mount.
