Everyone ree’ing about the new hero.
I’m sorry she wasn’t your favourite the one you wanted but can you not jut give a character a chance, all your favourite heroes from Blizz started this way
What bothers me is some people are running around slinging insults just because people don’t want her. Same goes for the opposite opinion too for that matter. Remember forum, having an opposing opinion is fine.
I feel about Qhira the same way I felt about Orphea when she was announced:
Extremely fun kit.
Great visual design.
Seems well balanced.
Boring personality and lore.
Hopefully she grows on me the same way Orphea did. At the end of the day, the kit and gameplay are far more important than a nametag
EDIT: PoS forums banning the word “azz”. Who’s even offended by azz?
HOTS is not the venue for building up interest in an unknown character. I like the blizzard characters from their games because the game gave me time to get to know them. That just isn’t how HOTS works.
I’ve not been one to get mad in the past when a newly announced character wasn’t exactly the one I’d been waiting for. I was fine with all of them because they all come from games I enjoyed. This character is a stranger and I’m not the least bit interested in learning more about her generic sounding backstory than what was described in the spotlight.
If this kit had instead been Reno Jackson, the response would be substantially more positive, I can guarantee you.
What do you think about blackxit ?
I just wrote that they could have done a better job with her presentation, character and lore. You know this wasn’t the best way to present her.
The first (lolita dark) princess was fine for a joke. The second (wakanda warrior) princess is more like a… trend…
I’m sure there’s plenty they could have done
But for all Iknow her comic was delayed and she was the only character ready for PTR out of the ones they are working on so they ahd to make do,
There’s lots they could have done better but to be hoenst there’s a hell of a lot they could have done that’s worse.
Kit looks fun and the backstory is as promising as any Overwatch hero we’re STILL waiting for lore on
No they didn’t. That is patently false.
Take Tassadar. We met him as a rogue Templar in SC1 who was not too lofty to talk with the other races, or his own kin from the dark side. We played with him, and as him. In the end, we saw him sacrifice himself. He is revered by characters in the franchise since then (e.g., Artanis).
How can you possibly compare that to Qhira?
I love how you go into detai labout what we saw after his entire game and his sacrifice
My point is that as a character they all started in conept stage like this and this is the best way to try and impliment a hero into a MUTLIPLAYER only game
While I agree that her kit is fun, I need to disagree that her story is as promising as any Overwatch hero. Overwatch’s world is surpisingly well made with a good direction when every “reader” is exited to see his/her favorite hero in action. By the way, Overwatch characters are super charismatic.
HotS story is a mess since the first comic, but that’s a discution for another day. Just want to say I dont hate the new girl, but I’m very critical about what Blizzard does after what they did to SC.
It’s one way. It’s precisely not the best way for a multiplayer-only game whose “schtick”, from its inception, is that it gives players the chance to play their favorite heroes of yore, so to speak.
Look, Qhira is in and I’m actually pretty sure she’ll be super fun and effective. Just don’t go trying to justify her on false pretenses is all.
He meant they started out that way, like we knew nothing about them at first. I’m sure we’ll get more lore later.
Kinda proves my point they’re comparing them to when they first meet (the HOTs characters to Tassadar and make mention to crap that happen in the end of his story
Whatever like I said in the OP this is why I hate people right now
I’m going to have to agree to disagreeGishki, Overwatch is painfully average at best in my honest opino
Dosne’t help that there are still engima’s in the lore 3 years later
If she’d been introduced in Overwatch and then brought over, there’d be far less outcry. Some of the OW haters might be mad cuz “OW Hero”, but there wouldn’t be the same kind of reaction as we’re seeing now.
Oh yeah obviously there’d be less outcry
People are just being idiots and refusing to broaden their horrizons, as if this character isn’t a blizzard creation
From average to good is just personal opinion, but my point is that at least isn’t bad.
No people like you are missing the point.
But that’s the point. This game is about playing a moba with characters from Blizzard’s universes. Even for OW characters where the lore hasn’t been fully fleshed out, the players have experience playing as and with the character, hearing them banter with others, maybe some tidbits of backstory to ponder over.
Here we have none of that. Qhira is dropped in our lap with the flimsiest pretense of a ‘backstory’. With essentially no backstory and no prior experience with the character, combined with the fact that the pipeline for heroes has slowed substantially, it’s understandable why many are upset.
Maybe it’s just becaus ethe drips of Lore (which after Reunion I realized was nothing more then little drips that the fanfiction writers turn into storms, that’s what they were relying on and it honestly just saddened me even as a fanfic writer myself)
That might be my distate for Overwatch at this point, that and He who shall not be named is turning Balance into a joke and Reworks into cancer.
I get the point perfectly, people are salty because they didn’t get their favourite hero and got a passion project form the devs instead
