Simply put, I’m curious about what character’s people Don’t like.
We all have our favourites, but with a roster this vast, surely there are those that aren’t hated?
Be it in their original game or just a bad experience against them, What’s your least favourite character in this game?
Mine is Tracer, but that’s a given as she’s my least favourite Video game character in general. Alarak might be close behind. Just not a fan of his character trope.
(Goes without saying, but this is purely opinionated, don’t hate on what others say)
Most of the mages. I only like Mephisto.
I’m a bruiser main, I belong in the enemy’s back line during team fights and wreaking havoc. So, being a squishy with no mobility, no sustain and having to rely on a tank for his cc is super dull for me.
Everything about Sgt. Hammer’s kit is weird and divisive. She has already received 1 or 2 full reworks, yet she is in such a state the developer team decided to completely ban her from Aram/brawl in late 2019.
If you can’t get to her physically, she can sit halfway across the lane and bombard your structures. Or if you have no burst damage, she can have a healer like Morales behind her and they can steamroll to your core as 5.
I don’t know how I would change her. I just never liked the hero in general. She was almost never picked in HGC either and she has rarely if ever been a meta pick. She has often only been picked into cheese comps where everything revolves around protecting her so she can take forts and keeps unopposed.
She is not overpowered. Never has been. I just don’t think it’s fun to face her, nor to play “protect the Hammer and stay in her radius” comps when she’s on your side.
Garrosh. He is throw man, that’s his gimmick. That’s it.
Kerrigan. Stuck in 2015 (when the game was released). Tedious 1-2 combo.
Alexstraza. Go make a coffee while this slow, painful healing ring slowly… very slowly fills up and… oh no one’s using it anyway. (also because they ruined her model).
I dislike when heroes have a lot of get-out-of-jail-free cards. If you’re out of position for your hero’s role you should be punished for it. However, some kits allow them to negate this or even turn it into an advantage. It gets really frustrating trying to pin down these annoying little bugs, who also usually have small hitboxes.
I find the majority of assassins in this game kind of a chore to play. Most of them have the one good build and you approach every game the same exact way and it becomes tedious very quickly.
That and the “easy” heroes. Boring characters with good numbers and abilities that see a lot of play simply because of how simple and effective they are. Namely Jo, Raynor, and Anduin.
Playing her very actively can be fun simply because you’re subverting expectations and it feels rewarding to take risks as her. Spider Mine build can really ruin someone’s day if they’re not being destroyed by fast attackers like Tracer or Zarya.
But yeah her overall style is pretty bland. Punishes enemies for not being able to deal with you or not having enough burst to kill your teammates while avoiding you.
Wrong. Mommystraza is the best thing to come out of this game.
Probious. I just left a brawl with leaver cause i afked during hero select and got prob. Such a passive and pathetic play style that i cant stand playing hom. Hes the boring gazlowe, 1 turret, bomb wannabe and a pathetic lazer rip off.
I would say garbage like that thing with the most disliked spotlight vid on YouTube. That thing is a generic cash grab with its kits stolen from other heroes and patched together like an abomination.
Not to mention that thing literally killed off the chance to appear in this game from a hamster that’s much more deserving.
It’s funny, a lot of heroes I hated to face in 2015-2016 eventually became some of my favorites. If you can’t beat them, join them, eh?
I generally don’t hate heroes in HotS nowadays anymore. I know a fair amount of heroes that can be annoying in the right hands but this is too broad to be considered hate.
I guess if I hate anything it’s to face a well-coordinated dive comp. I solo-Q a lot and seeing their well-oiled performance melting my team a fairly large obstacle to overcome. They aren’t a plain menace but often enough one of these two happen:
1.) My team overextends and we have to fight 3v5 and such.
2.) I am in another lane and the divers merk some of my teammates
It eventually forces me to be constantly on the “hunt” for the divers, trying to back up my team which is decidedly not fun for me. I miss on lanes, usually deplete my resources and even then dubiously successful. I end up feeling exhausted, frustrated and still most likely lost.
I much more prefer split-pushers because at least a good macro player will make the game end early. Yes, I play a lot of QM so I am very much not expecting to always win so losses are not that of a bother. My teammates on occasion can feel like complete potatoes but that’s part of the experience.
You’ll also be very pleased to know that according to a french streamers who has contact with the devs and talked to them about it, she has at least slowed if not killed the concept of selendis too.
Maybe not to that point but some of her concept could have been used for her.
I personally don’t like an inherent design of only 1 hero. Murky. He makes every game a race against the clock.
I also feel that Anduin needs nerfs currently, but I like his overal design. The problem I see with him is infinite mana and level 16 talent that lets him spam his heals every second - and he still has enough mana to pull this off. I honestly never once saw Anduin run out of juice.
That, on top of his heals being so strong that it is completely impossible to 1v1 him as certain characters - he will heal himself until you die.
That, on top of decent damage and long-ranged CC.
But judging by lack of nerfs - Blizzard thinks that it’s just fine, so I hate him currently.
