How to monetize PVE content;

was playing the brawl & kind of missing the PVE content that just phased out, which of course circles around to my whole “I wish they’d have made more of it it kind of feels like the WC4 we never got” thing
but it was actually productive; I realized how they could monetize the PVE content they have, and could (hypothetically if they went back in time & gave this idea to the devs back when this had a team with RTS experience) monetize future PVE content.

so here it is; add a new queue to the Play tab in between Brawl and ARAM that’s always Dungeon Crawl or PVE content. you spend a PVE ticket to access it, ticket is consumed but winning re-funds you your ticket, the mode gets harder each time you win (normal then heroic then heroic+ then heroic++).
you earn tickets every time you win a Brawl (encouraging people to fill out the brawl queue) & they’re drops for doing the daily quests (make the daily quests require actually winning again tho) and from lootchests so they hook into all methods of playing the game.
Or, of course, you could just buy one directly for super cheap & bet your $ that you can win consecutive PVE brawls

If HOTS were releasing PVE content I would absolutely sit down & spend $1.50 on a new set of PVE maps as long as there was also a guarantee that teammates who grief in those matches are actually gonna get banned – like reports in those matches are actually reviewed by a human being

and of course PVE maps would still cycle into rotation in the brawl queue periodically for free/infinite access

(This is also basically the system that TF2 used for MVM, & I spent a not-insignificant amount of money on that mode and still look back on it fondly)

Most games when it’s 1 on 9 you can just already think of it as modified PvE
but to each their own
