Title. Sometimes I want to show what Tassadar can do, but don’t know how.
I don’t think you can watch the replay outside of the game unless you record it. You could use OBS, that program people use to stream, you could record your gameplay with it.
Perhaps this topic is a bit on the complicated side.
as far as i know there is no current software available to directly just ‘play’ the replays. they have all been abandoned long ago and since the software has to be update with major version changes in the game they wont work with anything in game now.
so the only real option is to record videos of your games either as they are happening or go back and record your replays.
Ok, second question - which programs should I use for recording?
People usually recomend OBS (the same people use to stream).
I usually use the record option on Geforce Experience, but I only record some small clips, I don’t think it would be good for a whole match.
I appreciate your help
Does FRAPS work with HotS?
http://fraps.com/
FRAPS kill PCs at best, it’s no longer recommended compared to softwares like OBS.
As for OP, there’s online converters that allow Youtube video downloads, I use it all the time whenever I want a song for one of my garbage videos.
Nvidia also has its own software to record. It’s really easy and user friendly. Just observe Tassadar, hide ui and set GeForce Experience to record hots even in the background.
Yeah, use the Nvidea recording - it’s very useful
it even give you the option to record “the last 3 minutes” so you don’t have to keep it active all the time… did you make an amazing play? press the F9 (or whatever u configure) button and it will record the last 3 min.
In that way you can record only “highlights” instead of the whole match
IIRC aren’t you required to download Geforce Experience to have Shadowplay?
There’s many to choose from,
OBS (Open Broadcaster Software):
Positive:
- No lag
- Great quality
- Open source
- possible to add community made plugins to it (didn’t test it but it’s there for those who want it)
- Good for low tier PCs and High tier PCs
- Excellent tool used by many twitch streamers or for recording purposes
Negative:
- Can be confusing to new users and difficult to understand or to set up.
- Not user friendly.
A second option is Shadowplay/Nvidia Built-In Recorder:
Positive:
- Very quick to use
- Very user friendly
- Really easy to understand
- Records in great quality
- Quality Options (Low, Med, High or Custom)
- No lag at all
Negative:
-
Cannot record above 20 minutesEdit: only if you want to save instant replays, I’m an idiot. - Requires a Nvidia graphics card
(no way) - Only available to Nvidia GTX 600 series card or higher
I don’t understand. Shadowplay is for recalling moments (you didn’t record) immediately after it happened. I’m not sure how exactly it works but I guess Shadowplay continuously records and deletes short replays and it saves them when you press the button.
DrLogan didn’t specify what exactly he wants, short clips (easiest way to use Shadowplay during the game) or entire games (recording selected replays with GeForce Experience).
I recommend it because it’s versatile and easy.
Please don’t show anyone what tassadar can do. I am often tempted to share my builds (yes tassadar has multiple viable builds) and strats for different maps teammates and enemies to prove that tassadar is not only not weak but might be secretly OP. Then i think about all the people calling for buffs and reworks. People like you and i will get to enjoy at least two weeks of complete dominance before they nerf him. Please reconsider.
Are you sure? I guess it’s only for the Shadowplay feature. You can find topics on Nvidia forum about huge file size issues of 1.5-2h long videos.
I’m an idiot, fixing the comment rn, once again I confused instant replay and on and off recording.
