How much do you ping?

When I notice my tank want to engage 4v5 or a level down while our solo is clearing a lane, I ping danger then ping the solo, but I noticed that often they don’t really care and go anyway. Should I spam ping to be sure he notice or it would be considered annoying you think?

in solo qm i rarely ping since ppl dont listen anyway. (note eu gold rank)

When your team is about to start a 4 vs 5 fight. No amount of pings is going to stop them.

I still try, but I have a 100% failure rate.

A lot.
As an offlane main, I have to give intel to my team.
Even if it’s just to go in a lane, the message goes in faster than them having to wait 3 sec before they guess it.
I’d ping danger vs the offlaner’s rotations or a stealth enemy.
Retreat if the call looks bad, depending on levels, macro pressure, resources, etc.
Sometimes, I can’t even ping while channeling an ability (Yrel’s W), so I have to type instead.

i ping to convey what I am doing (tap fountain, take mercs, etc). If someone else wants to follow woo hoo.

Sometimes ping spam is nessesary but its not something to be over used. Other then being annoying if done to much, it can cover the mini map making it even harder to read.

As for when I ping, I play alot of healer so many of my pings try to communicate what im doing or where I’m going. I’ll often ping “on my way” to people who are recalling because they are low beacuse I can get them back in to the game faster then recalling can. I’ll also often ping my ability cooldowns and my mana bar % in and out of fights. I’ll also ping “on my way” to people who are trying to escape the enemy to try and get them to take a path that will more likely get them out.

i tried to be “polite” with pings and this strategy never, ever works

in brazil server, many players are monkeys who do not see danger or bad situations so you must spam pings many times and write in chat+ shout in portuguese voice chat until they retreat, so they don’t die to a gank by 4 enemy heroes

and with this ping spam, i think my win rate and teammates win rate increased at least 2-3%

“polite pinging” can only work in very high elo like grand master

pretty much only when im deviating from the expectation. so if i have to “B” cuase i got no mana when the team wants to invade, stuff like that. i also 2x ping each direction. danger ping? 2x protect your healing fountain? 2x retreat+enemy death timers? 2x on each one.

its too easy to lose a single ping in the chaos. IMPORTANT! no more than 2x per, anymore than that and you look like your raging or otherwise emotionally unstable.

I use one ping as a suggestion… 2 or nore when i I am certain. A lot of times people will be spamming different things and it leads to confusion. Sometimes it’s best to ping once and then watch the other pings to see which is the best strategy. Spam the one you agree with.

I often ping, because I show my intentions with them and also warn my allies when necessary.
But I never spam it, because that’s annoying. 1-2 ping is more then enough. If ppl don’t act they don’t understand the ping so more would not help, or they chose to ignore it.

Nah dont do that. People will report you cause reasons.

Asia is really good with pings – NA less so.

General rule is ping the issue twice. Example: if you are backing for mana, ping your mana bar twice while you are hearthing.

I’ve noticed at the Gold/Plat level in NA people just completely ignore pings. It’s rather silly since that is a way better way to quickly communicate decision making info than typing it out…

0 pings, no one listens to them so when i used to play, i stopped trying to communicate.

People listen to pings that make sense
If you ping your out of mana before a fight. People will take care

If you ping at things that doesnt make sense people rightfully ignore it.
Im not saying your pings suck but maybe wonder why they are not reacting on it. To show a camp or ult is almost ready is very usefull

No they wont. I used to play healer all the time and id ping retreat when i was oom and they would just engage 4v5 and blame me.

Well it works perfectly for you so if you give up and dont even concider doing it , ill spend my time somewhere better

I ping mostly to let my team know when a camp is going to be available, or if i sense the enemy team doing one in particular. Also when someone is going to be ganked i ping danger.
If they decide to ignore my pings idc, i know i tried, most of the time my pings fail once, prior to them starting to pay attention.

ngl this made me laugh :joy:

No one listens to pings, been playing this game for years and id guess bout 15% of the player base listens so its not worth my time.

I ignore spam pings and pings that are low IQ.

Sounds like a you problem
People also listen to my pings
