I didn’t get it this game the Falstad did and I had top siege/hero damage and top exp contribution…
not even mad or complaining…just genuinely curious how it is determined

Oh derp nvm…hero kills…he had way more than me and I think I remember someone saying that those count way more toward MVP
you did top dps and siegue numbers but u the other numbers, kills /assist/deaths matters too, falstad di 45k wich is not much lower than you, only 3k, also he has 8 kills with 7 assist with 0 deaths wich made him get the mpv in a match agaisnt AIs? lol xd
Nothing wrong with playing against AI. Best option to avoid the community and still enjoy the game on some level.
I vowed to not partake in discussions about MVP because it is a waste of time. So forgive me for wasting your time reading my post. I will punish myself for wasting time making this post.
One thing to mention is it seems to blindly just add up totals once you die. So if you die once five seconds before the game ends it will still count as the total (30s+ later in the game) which can kick you out of that “award”.
Which is bound to staying alive, so more a consequence of your death counter/time dead being kept low.
You should quit that habit if you want that all-important title and be in the center of the screen
We all know it´s important so that you can lecture your teammates how you are not the reason the team lost, but them. Also numbers, big numbers are good, especially damage as a tank.
Yes, if only that was determined by a proper algorithm or a vote. The latter would still be far from perfect (perception biases, people not being able to judge anything but big damage numbers, etc …), but still better than the current system.
**MVP Formula**
* Add kills
* Add assists x [LostVikings=0.75, Abathur=0.8, other=1]
* Add (timeSpentDead / gameLength) x 100 x [Murky=-1, Gall=-1, Cho=-0.85, other=-0.5]
* Add 1 if player has top hero damage of his team
* Add 1 if player has top hero damage of the match
* Add 1 if player has top siege damage of his team
* Add 1 if player has top siege damage of the match
* Add 1 if player has top healing of the match
* Add 1 if player has top XP contribution of his team
* Add 1 if player has top XP contribution of the match
* Add 0.5 if player is Tank/Bruiser and has top damage received of his team
* Add 1 if player is Tank/Bruiser and has top damage received of the match
The game isn’t smart enough to take into account that you did everything better. He was a part of more takedowns so he gets it. Behold the joy of simple programming.
Although I don’t like or play Vs AI, I was about to say the same, there is no shame in enjoying this mode. Back when we had blue posts, Vs AI was the most popular mode, until they “fixed” the AI to make it terrible.
I think I stopped playing a good while before the fix though. I played with human teammates against AI. It was good. I remember getting like one AFK in my games. I played VS AI pretty much exclusively.
I play exclusively vs. A.I. No shame in playing a game mode that you enjoy. Games are meant to be played for fun so if that is your cup of tea who cares?
The A.I is not as bad as it was pre-2018-2019 patch. There are certain areas, and heroes, that they are dumb with (Yrel is pretty much a free kill), but if the A.I team composition lines up and if they are veteran/elite it can be a bad time if the players are not on top of their game.
In regards to MVP, I wish I could opt out of being given it sometimes. Unless I play support, it is rare for me to NOT get it, unless I am playing with someone who is playing a particular character or is skilled in fighting the bots. I have had my share of games of people venting their frustration at me for getting it repeatedly for multiple games in a row.
I play this game with my partner who prefers AI because theyre not used to pvp games, and I like to accommodate their comfort as long as I can spend time playing hots with them. Otherwise I like playing other modes equally.
My mode of choice depends on who is with me, or if Im in a hurry to complete my quests.
