i said this before but ill say it again, there are like maybe 50 devs that work on this game (up to 100 if we are lucky) and about 10,000+ Heroes of the storm player, its hard to balance a game when you have to test things between 50 people, you also got to remember Hots devs aren’t Pro players meaning that might not know whats best for the meta sometimes, but i guarantee neither does the Hots community, if the devs listened to the majority of the hots community i’m pretty sure this game would have a lot less players.
My point is give them a break, they are doing their best on a game they everyone keeps saying is “dead” (even thought it’s clearly not) i don’t alike Deathwing being broken either but personally if i wads a dev i would probably not do well with initial balance.
and finally you also got to remember they when they give patch notes for a hero they don’t want to overnerf/buff heroes. just give e m a break man

Half the roster can take him out no problem , as long the player act smart , there wont be any issues.
I can easily list 10 heroes i find more threatening than deathwing.
He’s so slow and telegraphed , he’s horrible at chasing targets unless he lands his E with the lvl 13 talent ( i think its 13 if not its 16 lol ) . regardless , if you had a deathwing attacking you , just walk away and big chance he wont ever catch up to you.
If your stuck and have to fight against it in a lane or objective , take your time and just keep poking . you have all the time in the world to kill it . not deathwing because he cannot be healed by B or healers , so hes stuck with either natural regen , fountains or flight.
Also keep in mind he a combo hero. He need his team to lands meaningful hits/kills.
Unless the opponents are brain dead , theres very little chance enemies will take any important damage , let alone die facing him.
Yesterday I spammed many QM games on Zarya and it only then became apparent what a mess this game has become. Games without proper healers or tanks, and you’re stuck on this hero that struggles between roles but can’t solo lane, do mercs or any worthwhile activity alone and effectively.
Games with DW were completely miserable and every 2nd game game was vs Tassadar and Abathur. A random DW on either side has made this whole experience that much worse, you can’t do much about him and playing with him makes you feel completely useless.
In draft games he is not problematic, but he completely ruins the already broken matchmaking for the most popular game mode. They should start enforcing specific team compositions like in Overwatch to combat this, regardless of how much the queue times would increase.
For the sake of justice it should be noted that the current developers release a good patches of balance. For the most part. Reworks, too. Well, except now you can’t get above 5 gold after calibration, like. There’s also a system of tanks and healers in quicks, but it’s been disabled for rework. What’s to rework, though? The solutions to the problems are the simplest and most obvious.

If you saw the videos talking about DW conception you’d realise that they tested him a lot and that there was much more ridiculous iterations of him.
