Because this Twitch thing isn’t working at all.
(My apologies if this is a double-post. I did have a whole thing typed out, but I don’t think that thread went through at all.)

Just out of curiosity and all. But was Twitch banned in Australia? Otherwise, the game has 3 main region: NA, Asia and Europe. You don’t connect the Twitch to your country, but the region which you play.
Not at all - I still can get Twitch drops that show up in-game for viewing Warframe streams without any hassle whatsoever.
(Btw, Australia is part of the “Americas” group when it comes to Blizzard servers. I’ve got the connection part going just fine. )
But in the list of countries Blizzard has decided are allowed to participate in this Orphea thing…? We’re not on the list.
The list of places is on the “For more details, read the official rules [here]” link at the bottom of the announcement page.
I’d be fine if I lived in Vietnam. Or China. Or Slovakia. Or Kazakhstan.
But I live in Australia, so as far as I can tell this means I get to miss out(?)
Suffice to say, I’m somewhat less than impressed.
It’s quite dumb and insane that the eligible countries are so few, like wtf how is that fair to us that pay and play but don’t live in any of those countries? I want those drops and I haven’t gotten any because they country where I currently reside in isn’t worthy enough to be listed for a dumb spray? ok
Unbelieveable, Australia is not in the Eligibility Rull list.
There is an Eligibility Rull, you can read, which country can get the drops.
Frankly it’s demoralizing to see so many reminders about the promotion and even get emails saying you can get these new cool cosmetics, and then go to a blog post basically saying “This doesn’t apply to you”.
I understand that not all countries will get the chest drops due to the random nature of the giveaway and each countries specific stance on gambling, but the cosmetics should be available for every country (like the pink Mercy cosmetics from OW a while back).
Even if we can’t get the cosmetics from Twitch, there should be a way for people on non-participating countries to get them through other means.
Sorry for the rant, it’s just that this thing frustrates me as hell.
Get a VPN, set it to be in a country that has it allowed.
VPN doesn’t help, it seems to be based on Blizzard account settings.
Can you change the country listed on your account, but still get the rewards on you region?
But in the list of countries Blizzard has decided are allowed to participate in this Orphea thing…? We’re not on the list.
Unfortunately I don’t think we are meant to get anything (Though I managed to get 1 random drop in the last Australia excluded event)
It should work if you’re located in that region (like Mexico or Australia in NA region), but you need to contact CS to get it done. It can also mess up your shop settings, make it harder to use your CC in the shop or cause extra charges due to the currency exchange rate, and it’s most likely against the TOS.
We’re mostly screwed .
Change this on election days. Vote for the person who let’s you get Twitter drops. It is the most pressing world issue right now after all.
Exactly this! (to both of those points.)
Hell, the announcement post itself doesn’t even say ‘This doesn’t apply to you’, unless you go and look through the fine print - yet the ads for the thing we can’t get (unless I move to Qatar or something) are still showing every time I open the Blizzard client.
No need for the sarcasm, buddy.
There should be an available workaround for this - it’s not rocket science.
The lootbox drops are completely random… ive gotten 2 so far.
I think VPN could really help in that case, there’s many of them that can be downloaded for or built in browser like Opera VPN.
VPN doesn’t work, sadly. This seems to be based on the location that’s set on your account, and changing that is not just selecting a new one from a drop down menu.
Its not a VPN or internet thing its just a legal matter. Blizzard are slack and uncaring.
This used to be a thing for Overwatch League but the $s and visibility involved there are much higher so the legal department got off its butt and now Australian audiences (and other minor regions) got added to the eligibility list and can now enjoy Twitch promotions for OWL. They could do the same for HOTS and their other IPs if they cared.
