This map has always been challenging for me, and I have a poor winrate on it. What strategies are most effective on it + what type of draft do you want?
It’s out of the pool. But the real answer is that you need waveclear and gank power. Usually, if you can make it unsafe for the opposing team to be taking back vision points in the middle of the map, then you’re in a great position to win.
I’m definately not a map strategy expert but I will post what comes to mind with warhead junction.
I am one of the few who actually seems to like the map though.
Top keep should be the priority because Top Fort + Keep + Boss is pretty much gg.
Bot has the firebat camps so you can push to finish bot with a nuke or 2 as well.
Destroying mid fort can be useful to make it easier to get the nukes mid, vision and invading enemy camps so I would say priority imo is…
Top lane - Mid fort - Bot lane - Mid keep (I think it’s most difficult to finish mid but destroying the fort is very beneficial).
If they have a keep and you have a nuke or 2 it would be difficult to defend a push with a late level boss also.
Nukes do a lot of damage to walls and towers but barely any damage to forts and keeps.
They are good to push with though, if you launch a nuke at a fort while pushing and enemy is defending they have to back off or eat a nuke, giving you the chance to do big damage to the fort.
You can use nukes to contest boss and camps as well.
The tunnels are a quick way to traverse from top to bot but you and your opponents are vulnerable when you appear on the other end.
Look to gank people coming out of the tunnel.
Globals and characters who are good at interupting nukes and good on this map, such as Ragnaros (also good at defending boss), Chromie, Dehaka, Illidan, Falstad, Deathwing, Tyrande, Ana.
Good for people who can pass by walls, have a lot of mobility and are good at ganking such as Zeratul, Genji also Tyrael, Kharazim, Lucio for mobility and speeding allies up.
Split pushers are good here so Azmo, Sylv, Abathur, Raynor.
Strong independent solo laners who can get camps like Sonya and Hogger.
Drafting a strong ganking 4 man with 1 solid off laner can be good here.
You can go full globals and p v e with the map being so big and try to split push your way to victory.
Hope my post is of some help.
Most players try to take all the warheads at the same time, so duelists and very long range DPS or with pets are very strong on this map to play for time. Globals are no longer so relevant due to teleports.
Trying to take everything at the same time is a common mistake players make. Players also make the mistake of trying to take the farthest warhead instead of focusing their efforts on the nearest three, for example : 2 from the top lane and one in the middle lane. In addition, the warheads are weak, especially against core shields (it’s better to remove the shield with normal damage first, so pushing with hands gives even more benefits).
The same goes for maps with dragons and zerg. After level 10 players try to take both points at the same time, instead of , to be in five and use the numerical advantage. It’s the same on the Towers of Doom. It seems that people did not study at school and do not know that the two closest towers at the top are more than the furthest one at the bottom.
P.s. The priority line for destruction, as mentioned above, is due to the boss and mercenaries. The lower one is secondary because of the mercenary camps. In the center of the explosion, the maximum damage, as far as I remember, is why the warheads must be thrown correctly, that is, directly into the center of the target.
