How do I (..........)? Niche questions looking for answers

I often have questions that don’t warrant their own unique thread. I hope this thread can be a place where more selective questions players have that aren’t found in guides or threads, can be asked, discussed and answered. For example, here is my question.

My question is inspired by a recent QM game, this is one of those weird QM random comp related problems that most guides online don’t address. I was playing Leoric and was the only melee hero on our team of Li-Ming/Raynor/Lunara/Nova/Leoric vs Tychus/Valla/Greymane/KT/Sonya.

Question: So to finally get to my question, how in that situation do you make the best of Leroic vs both burst, %damage from Tychus and Silver Bullet Greymane and a bruiser with a stun and dive (Leap), vs only my slows with Leoric?

Our team didn’t do horribly and we got the game past level 20 with Raynor probably being more of a problem as he would always get ganked right before every objective. I did find it difficult though trying to assist my backline without playing too conservatively with that much damage coming at me as Leoric.

Thanks in advance for any answers to my question. If you have any niche question of your own, ask away.

IMO “making the best” of Leoric in that situation means…

  • Focusing on macro
  • Rotating to ambush from bushes/vents when they are focused on your ranged
  • Abusing 13 - Ominous Wraith

But honestly, I think winning that matchup is more about the opponent being bad and your team being amazing than any impact Leoric could have…? :man_shrugging:

If you’re on Leo and the enemy team has both Tychus and Greymane, consider making maximum use out of your trait value.

I’ll leave now

Oh I sure did. It was to my thinking the best option all considering.

They weren’t bad, I died four times which I felt was too high as Leoric. Our Raynor didn’t stutter step often and just kept overextending and getting ganked. We would always try to push during the objective (as this was Volskaya it was a good idea) but with Raynor constantly dead that approach didn’t work as well as it should.

I love playing Leoric, but I’ve often encountered very difficult matchup’s in solo queue QM’s. I’ll admit to feeling a bit helpless in this match which is what prompted the thread.

FRESH SPECTRE!!!

Does the train mount provide any tactical advantage from its unique trait? I always feel it might provide a tiny advantage since all players move perfectly together.

Also are you able to link trains with the enemy? I could not really test this.

I don’t think so really, so many people don’t even know how to click it. It could have some bugged special features, because it is really buggy. I notice when I play as Tyrande if she clicks on the train when it moves she stands up and walks, it looks very peculiar.

I’ve never tried to link with an enemy, I’m assuming you can’t, but who knows.

Leoric would like to think so. I think Xul looks more scary in his “Bone Visage” skins than anything Leoric has, but Leoric apparently carries around his own tomb, so that’s pretty boss.

Yes, yes, I know nothing is more frightening than “Monkey” Brightwing! :fearful:

Just let your range heroes poke the other team and then go in for a kill with entomb if you catch them. If you reaction time is fast then you can even bait out leap with your own wrath walk and then put your drain hope on her and slow her and have the others finish her off.

Leo is bad againts range so better just stay with your team and force the other team to come to you. If Liming is a good bowling player she can even go full orb build and poke the others down since no healers pressence.

Thanks Froggy and Nemarra, this is pretty solid advice. I felt kinda abused having to face both Tychus and Silver Bullet Greymane, it felt like payback for my 2 previous games as Leoric where I was agasint a poor Deathwing and made his life a misery.

I had tried convince the Nova player to take Precision Strike to combo with entomb, but she of course went Triple Tap but got no kills from that. Your advice would have worked, but the Ming had a really odd build, a mixture of a Calamity build, with an Orb build, a Q build with Glass Cannon thrown in there for what reason I don’t know.

It was the usual QM thing where the team was very impatient to just run and give the enemy team hugs. I wasn’t given the chance to bait out Sonya, as I would have Raynor and Ming run into the enemy I was forced to move with them. It’s always difficult when your frontline but the ranged heroes want to initiate the engages.

Thank you for the advice though, I will keep that in mind next time I have to face a horrible comp like that as Leo.

Just step back, sucking life from the enemy tank until the trait of Tychus and Gray’s ultimate ends. And of course the build should be for survival.

They have lots of % dmg, low CC, low sustain.
You have no healer and not a solid front line.
You don’t win the long fight, but you can take care of an enemy alone at lvl 20.
You need burst dmg. It doesn’t matter if you die often, you respawn faster. Get the better trade as much as possible. If you cast all your abilities, you should easily take out one of them and dragging enough aggro.
[T3321334,leoric]
E build doesn’t do anything vs % dmg and W build works in long fights.
Shroud of the Dead King is the most important, although it comes late game.
I’ve soloed Tychus with that build, even with Drill + full % dmg. He was powerless.
Kneel Peasants depends if Raynor and/or Lunara went the PvE talent. If that was the case, then the other picks are fine.
You can win team fights post 10 and pre 20, but it requires you to land your ult on at least 2 heroes and have the follow up from your team.

How do I parallel park?

Use your rear view mirror rather than the side mirrors or looking over your shoulder.

  1. Pull up next to the car in front of the parking spot, about 2 feet away, and with your rear bumper even with theirs.
  2. Start backing up while cutting your wheels towards the curb, watching the headlights of the car behind the space in which you are parking in your rear view mirror.
  3. As soon as the second headlight reaches the edge of your mirror, start cutting back the other way.
  4. Put the car in park, lock it, and enjoy the rest of your day.

Waa no bonus round ?

Darn, my thread is just a joke, how do I craft a good joke?

Thanks Lucifer, I’ll try your advice out in my next Leoric game. Although my team had the constantly dying Raynor, I still felt I was making too many mistakes, which is why I made this post. Although that was a pretty rough comp for Leoric, it often happens to a lesser degree when you solo queue as Leroic.

the way of the craftsman is one of apprentice and master. Usually you have to apply to a guild and pass the entry exam (usually reading Aristotle’s Poetics). The western story-telling devices were influenced by the greek masters and while some of the notes are lost, there are three key things to know about ‘comedy’

  1. take all the stuff from tragedies and do kinda the opposite.
  2. practice timing on victims you don’t mind tormenting (with unrefined humour)
  3. play with expectations. If people are expecting a long joke, end it ubruptly; if they think one series/reliable lie or make stuff up.
  4. Stick to sets of three. It can be three items, the pacing of hook, distraction, climax, or three threes.
5). Use references; human experience varies, but people relate/empathize through related experience, esp if something bad/worse happens to the joke-teller that isn’t tragedy.
  5. Be sure to count to 3, 5 is right out.

However, crafting “good” jokes takes time, experience and a knack for stealing from your betters and passing it off as your own.

Otherwise, got the satyr route and say something involving flatulence or eroticism cuz awkward farts transend language barriers.

Personally, i refrain from scatalogical humor; I don’t tell crappy jokes…

You cannot link with an enemy. The train mount can give an advantage to a person who links to it. But it’s a bug, and I’d rather not tell people how to abuse it. I believe the mount is still baned from NGS and Heroes Louunge.

First, a lot of people will go "I need to be a tank, let’s get tanky and pick “March of the Black King” Don’t do that. You’ll just march in the middle of the enemy team and get blown up.

For me, it would depend on the behavior of the Tychus. If he looks like he knows what he’s doing and baits Ghostwalk. Then he’ll probably shred you if you go ghost build. Which doesn’t apply to him. If so, go AA build so you can quickly wear down the Sonya who’s the only frontline, and at that point someone on their team is going to move forward (Even if it’s a bad idea.) Then just entomb that person and say thank you for the free kill, as only a Leap Sonya can survive it.

You can’t, you got entombed

You don’t need to. Buy a self parking car.

Question. Does damage reduction effects stack?

Sometimes you have to mine for some good material first.

Whereas I tell so many crappy jokes you’d think I was a crappy, brown-colored shipping company, going for quantity over quality.

Oh well. Just gotta remember to Ship High In Transit.

At this point, “making the Best of Leroic” is not feeding the enemy a buffet. I’m sooooo HAPPY when the enemy team has a Leoric. The odds are automatically in our favor, cause that Leoric is going to make sure my team is ahead in level the whole match. haha.

I’d like an answer to this one too, I was reading up about it, it’s complicated.
