HoTS file size?

Hi, i am having issues with my ISP, they are throttling my connection to us(dot)patch(dot)battle(dot)net, it now will not let any connection from the Battle Net App at all. I tried a free VPN and got through. Being one of the troubleshooting steps was to do a factory reset on my computer. I now have to redownload HoTS but have only 493 MB remaining till next month and was wondering if i have enough MB.
thank you =)

If you gotta DL the whole game it’s like 15 GB or somewhere around that number as fresh install.

Nowhere near enough, it’s like 10 GB or more.

If your ISP is truly that scummy, I would just keep searching for VPN’s that allow you to circumvent the throttling, and possibly pay $1-2 for some extra bandwidth.

Or ask a friend to DL you the full patched client and upload it in pieces somewhere else / send it on a USB but that’s a lot of effort.

IIRC around 13 GB, each patch keeps the previous version so file size increases, if you do not reinstall the game in say a year you have pretty much ton of junk because the game doesn’t delete unused patches.

The major reason behind this is to make Replays be able to run the replay that occured in that version, but in general if you don’t use replays much or don’t watch really old ones then there’s no point in keeping those old patches.

Yikes, you’re trying to play an online only game on a data capped internet plan?

Anyone have any idea how much data is used per x amount of time in a match?

If you find your data limit is sufficient for your normal amount of play time per month, it may be worthwhile trying to download the game files and patches on a different connection. Maybe a free WiFi from a library or coffee shop or something.

My ISP doesn’t count any downloads done between 1:00 and 5:00 am as part of the limit…

Check with yours.
