HoTS chat channels?

Hello,

This question might already have been asked. I could not find a lot on it. But, I know there are open chat channels in HoTS that you can join (between games). I am wondering if there are any for newer players that might need help with the game. /LFG and such is nice but just a channel where you could maybe ask questions or chat with experienced players to get a better understanding of the game.

If anyone knows of such channels. Would very much like to know of them.

When you are in the game client, type “/join New Player Chat”.

I am not sure if there is a master list of chat channels anywhere, though.

Then get a blindfold. Well it’s not that bad, but be prepared.

I’m disappointed that there’s no responses to this other than join new player chat. I too have been googling various terms to try and find which channels and groups are inside both battlenet social tab, like discord, and then inside hots social channels. I’ve so far located maybe two? confirmed one.
Wintime
if you type /join wintime and hit you will join wintime, which is the players from gankbush squad podcast. Very nice! give them a listen with your podcast player, say you have a smartphone? try stitcher, or podbean, or many o ther podcast players, and follow lords of the storm while you’re at it, these guys spend a lot of time discussing the game in a good way and are pleasant to listen to, as well as current, releasing an avg of 1.25-1.5 hr podcasts every thursday.

The other one I found is NexusRaiders,
who also have facebook and I joined them the other day, also have their own website.

Been using it past couple of days for the same reason, trying to pound out placement games for mount. Been fairly active”

This is more of a hub of podcasts etc but very nice job:

you can post your own builds
no wait I want to post my own build, then hit heroes and select class etc, you can build and post your own content share with all, and very well known people that play seriously, for fun, competitive, HL, are here. Yunaleska, NotParadox even has a profile there, workhorse runs it, kiyeberries…tis worth a visit and a patreon for all their efforts but that’s “Just like, my opinion, man”.

A couple Channels that i know people are on:

  1. General 150-180 concurrent people
  2. Storm League 50-100
  3. Reddit 40-90
  4. MFPT 50-100

Most people dont join chat channels unfortunately,
I thi nk if you type /list
it will show you the options.
Not sure about that though

Most people experience general chat… and probably leave because, well. General chat is general chat…

I think the chatchannels are underused because there is no regulation for them.
You create one and if someone with malecious intent joins can ruin it without the ability to moderate it.

But if you want to create one such chat, I gladly join as a Master lvl Flex player.
