Hots August 19 Patch in a Nutshell

-Anubarak: Burning rage was lame, so it’s buffed it and shared it with beetles. Go beetles!

-Arthas: Howling blast range increased. Also at Lvl 20. He will run you down like Dwayne Johnson.

-Blaze: Incinerator Gauntlets nerfed.

-ETC: AA build buffed. Also, “Encore” may now be worth picking. Now reduces Mosh pit. I mean, his heroics.

-Mei: Is there anyone in the room who didn’t think trait and Avalanche would get nerfed?

-Muradin: Now gains mana on AA after his Q quest is complete.

-Chen: Slight buffs. Nothing major.

-DW: “Molten blood” healing increased.

-Deckard: “Safety in numbers” buffed.

-Tyrande: Buffs. Q healing in creased.

-Uther: W cooldown reduced and mana cost reduced! He lost 25 health.

-Illidan: Why is Illidan in the patch notes? Is this a bug? Talent buffs.

-Quira: Talent buffs

-Zeratul: Lvl 20 talent buffs because his lvl 20 was a disaster.

-Cassia: “Surge of light” nerfed. Yeah no one saw that coming.

-Chromie: Talent diversity buffs.

-Junkrat: Attack damage increased. Not sure why. Also talent buffs.

-Zul Jin: New Lvl 20 talent! AA bounce.

-Imperius: Nothing.

Perfectly Balanced. As all heroes should be.

I personally don’t have a problem with the way Imperius is now.

I give up. Imperius players win. :disappointed_relieved:

As somebody who plays a lot of Mei lately these changes feel more like a buff for me. Sure, I’ll feel the Avalanche nerf and I kind of expected that but my W+E build only grew stronger. I think both buffs were well deserved, though.

I never understood why they make the Q+E combo inefficient even with talent so 70 mana was about what I expected. The extra second of CDR is kinda unexpected, though. The 100% CDR on Flurry was a quality of life change, though. It always annoyed me how Flurry’s CDR was at average 2s behind Cold Front, it bottlenecked repeat combos very badly. Not like you can commonly execute two combos at once but still… it was bothersome.

For these changes I very gladly be more careful with landing my Avalanches. As for the spell armor nerf on Crystalize? Probably a bit generous but heading for the good direction. Mei’s Cyrostasis isn’t an issue in itself. She basically has a Jo shield but with self-stun and the potential to be used as out of combat healing. The problem is the armor which makes Cyrostasis seem more useful than it really is. Most Cyrostasis builds pick the talent for the CDR synergy anyways so I’m glad this didn’t change.

Cassia needed bigger nerfs. I wish they explained whether zul’jin bounced auto attack ignores a marked enemy when going q build. I don’t think a bounce in auto attack is enough to warrant the talent being picked. It’d have to be something major like sivir auto attack bounce to targets down the line if they clump up. Maybe code it so each auto attack prioritizes heroes and only can strike each target once.

TLV: Nothing.

Is that good or bad?

Wait why would you want it to ignore a marked target?

I’m asking if it does or not

I don’t think it would.

I think they addressed him by buffing chen. They were hoping to pull attention away from one teamfight bruiser with bad waveclear to another.

But also: imp is balanced, especially in our ranks.

But his shields were buffed.

Good for me.

No amount of shields will make me take other thing except UNSTOPPABLE at 1. But level 4 was another story.

My 70% winrate as TLV this seasons says good.

I’m a fan of shields, so nah.

I’m a fan of being able to play the game instead of keep being insta-deleted by a CC chain.
