Hogger draft/build thread

What builds do you have great succes with and on what map?
What heroes have great synergies and who to avoid?
Is he a off tank or a solo laner?

  1. Trait
  2. Trait
  3. W
  4. Trait
  5. Armor
  6. W
  7. Heroic Upgrade

Diablo and Hanzo.

Both. If you’re not on the sololane and you have a Healer, go full W build.

Why dibbles¿

Dibbles like Terrain.

I am sad no one is mentioning Auriel’s synergy. Like imagine him in an Auriel Cho’Gall comp with a marksman to round it off.

I like this build the most but here’s my take on it:

  1. Journeyman cooking
  2. Brute strength
  3. Dense blasting powder
  4. Hoardapult
  5. Dust devil
  6. Kablooie!
  7. Secret stash

I think you can use this build even in the off lane but not sure if it’s as strong as his more bruiser like builds. I’m note sure Hoardapult is the best heroic here as shockwave can combo with the dynamite pretty well and the 20 is nice too.

My issue with Shockwave that before lvl 20, Hoard is better imo.

And your build is nice, but I don’t like relying on W hits for good dual lvl of sustain.

Build:

Hogg Wild (E) [T3211134,hogger] versus low mobility and high cc. Hard to master. Get the angles right during team fights and try to box the enemies. Not good for 1v1.

Brawler (AA + trait) [T2331331,hogger] versus high AA weaving opportunities. Easy to master Clip

Dynamite (W) [T1122223,hogger] versus a ranged comp. Intermediate difficulty Clip

Weakness:

Slippery and heavy on ranged enemies (go Dynamite build for AoE dmg).

Percentage damage (go Brawler build for sustain).

Burst comp (go Hogg Wild build for armor).

Alternative talents:

Bloodthirst With Hogg Wild build vs lots of melee, good wall map and mastered the hero.

Headbanger: Mastered the hero.

I think shockwave’s problem is exactly as you say in that before 20 it’s just not as good. If the cool down was shorter it might be competitive but Hoard at just 50 seconds and giving sustain is hard to beat. I found the dynamite build to be really good for sustain. Landing it isn’t that hard but that will change once people get used to dodging it.

Another build I’m toying around with is the AA and staggering blow. It looks like this so far:

  1. On the prowl (Bones to gnaw is good tho too)
  2. Brute strength
  3. Seeing red
  4. Shockwave
  5. Bloodthirst
  6. Headbanger
  7. Anger management (or the upgrade is probably fine)

It’s not great but against melee it feels okay. It’s all about spamming that % based Q and is pretty fun.
