Please don’t kill Samuro
yeah, based on my experience, the burstier everyone is, the less fun it is.
This had been a busy summer for HOTS ! Seriously, thanks for this new patch
@ironymus yea but you wont be able to trade on the offlane like before. Imagine 1v1 on braxis, thats clipped, so unless you dont go way of the wind (rip way of the blade) there’s no sustain.
Are these changes live yet?
No, they aren’t just yet.
Hopefully sometime soon.
hope it includes the Cho’Gall being playable with A.I TeamMate and being able to solo ready up
that’s not mentioned in the ptr patch notes at all.
ai scripts would need testing, and with the testing phase of the ptr over, it’s not going to appear out of nowhere as a “we were secretly working on this other thing that isn’t in orange text”
Soooo.
What is the point of going PTR?
I hope there is work going on making cho’gall playable with an A.I Teammate and solo ready up
Forum locals looking at each to see who is going to be the bearer of bad news
there’s things I learned from custom games with cho’gall if the A.I teammate and solo ready up thing was added back in the 2015 release this wouldn’t need to be mentioned and brought up but till it happens Cho’Gall might not be playable peacefully till we get the A.I Teammate and solo ready up update happens
It’ll most likely happen around the time Half Life 3 is announced.
No don’t tell em.
No don’t tell em.
what did I just read!
So they didn’t fix ARAM.
What a shame, it was a quick way to grind levels.
What the point even releasing bug fixes and 1 change to ARAM
Today I wanted to bring up an interesting change in the latest patch notes concerning ARAM (All Random All Mid). While most of us enjoy the unpredictability and chaos that ARAM brings, there’s been a tweak that aims to lessen the chance of everyone being forced to select the same hero. The change has officially reduced this occurrence from 5% to 2%. But my friend MimicTear and I have some thoughts on that percentage.
The Patch Notes:
The latest update explicitly states:
“Reduced the chance of everyone being forced to select the same Hero from 5% to 2%.”
MimicTear’s Observation:
Now, according to the developers, the chance of everyone being forced to select the same hero was 5% prior to the update. However, MimicTear believes that in practice, it felt a lot closer to 50% based on our gaming sessions. We can’t count the number of times we’ve found ourselves in mono-hero matches, turning the battle into a hilarious but somewhat monotonous showdown. It seemed to happen way more frequently than 1 in 20 games, which is what a 5% chance should statistically represent.
Why This Matters:
- Gameplay Diversity: ARAM is enjoyed for its randomness and diversity. Having everyone play the same hero too often detracts from this.
- Skill Expression: Mono-hero matches often dilute the skill expression in the game as it becomes less about team dynamics and more about who can exploit a single hero’s mechanics better.
- Statistical Anomaly or Perception Bias: Is it just bad luck, or is there something in the RNG that skews toward selecting the same hero for everyone more often than claimed?
Discussion Points:
- Do you agree with MimicTear’s observation that the occurrence felt more frequent than 5%?
- Will the change to 2% noticeably impact the gameplay experience in ARAM?
- What are your thoughts on mono-hero ARAM matches? Do you find them enjoyable or tedious?
- Should the developers provide more transparency on how these percentages are calculated or tested?
Let’s talk about this! Your input could help give a broader perspective on whether this tweak is hitting the mark or missing it.
Best regards,
Sire Denathrius
I love how they posted the patch notes for the live servers, but forgot to remove the reference in the first paragraph to the PTR server.
When will map rotation be turned off? The bug that especially infuriateth me is when the same card that was just there appeareth again.
