Gazno Turrets Should Be Shorter Ranged

Make Gazno the AREA denial niche but in a small area hero. 6 range on turrets is WAY too big of an area. 3 range would be better as he would still block choke points while not being oppressive. In lane he would also be LESS safe as in we want “deh playmaking” for both sides. I have more changes of what I’d do to gazno to make him less OP (cough cough a certain ult) but strictly talking about his turrets one change would be reducing turret attack range by half.

A buff to turrets to compensate this huge nerf would be buffing its base health to 800 and/or scaling higher than 4.00% to make him a late game one trick pony with his certain ult. Maybe give his turrets infinite scaling somehow in addition to the greater than 4.00%. Idk. There’s a lot of ways they can compensate a range nerf on turrets but reducing the range on them is important first.

Now that his casting is faster than ever I’d be okay with seeing his power dial back a bit. Without any mana tension, he suffers very few weak points. Shame Robo Goblin turned weird, but that’s life, and now his cc wombo has training wheels.

What gets me about him is giving a turret hero sustain. Seems, I dunno, unnecessary? He already has turrets, so non pierce skillshots are at a natural disadvantage already.

If there’s anything evident between the two Gaz designs, it’s how much this one gets baseline.

The turrets hit for less damage than before his rework. As such being hit by turrets is not as dangerous/zoning as it was before. They also last shorter so it is harder for Gazlowe to maintain large numbers of them like before. They also get destroyed by splash damage more during the early game when they have less health so again, harder to maintain large numbers of them. Most of the damage from Gazlowe usually comes from the rest of his kit.

They pretty much kept his utility despite the recent buff effecting his overall role in a team. Now he’s more of a jack of all trades, so I’d love to see a nerf in his utility department, or just revert some of what made him a specialist and just go back a few steps.

His turrets hit for half of what they did before, have half the duration of what they did before, and have a longer CD then what they did before.

You want to nerf turrets even further? sheesh.

No one tell him how hard Exterminator raynor counters turret build gaz

It’s a power shift. I gave a buff after a nerf. If we want another turret hero tho I’d make a custom hero with smaller attack range on turrets. Gazno is just a problem right now

He suggests a buff right alongside the nerf. He just doesn’t want Gazlowe to have so many safe options, by the looks of things.

I don’t see any issues experimenting with targeted nerfs like this.

I don’t know what of his abilities/talent “builds”/singular talents make him win notably more in QM than ranked, but targeting specific parts of his kit like this until that element is found and nerfed a little bit seems fine to me.

citation for him being slightly stronger in QM than ranked.

This was AFTER his latest nerfs. I did a dumb.
That was before his latest nerfs.
52.3% in high level SL (likely Diamond+, Hero Level 10+)
55.7% in QM (unsure if this is all QM, or higher ranks of QM).

So yeah, small nerfs/changes that are meant to reduce his power slightly seem perfectly reasonable.

Yes, 52.3% winrate before a round of small nerfs is OUT OF CONTROL.

He’s probably hovering between 51% and 52% winrate at high level ranked play. OUT OF CONTROL INSANE POWER LEVEL.

Actually, I did a dumb. That was winrate a bit after that patch.

So probably still about that 52.3% winrate. Again, really out of control there.

He is the best bruiser in the game hands down. You either pick or ban him

And still his turrets aren’t the problem, so your suggestion is bad.

Okay. So a bruiser is a role you need in a team right.

It’s tank+bruiser+healer yeah?

Oh. Wait. No. It’s tank+healer+others

The issue is you’re talking from your emotions and feelings. Which are not illegitimate in terms of how you feel. You are welcome to feel gazlowe is unbalanced.

But when you refuse to admit the numbers show is is balanced (a tiny bit on the strong side) it isn’t a good look.

Personally, in the few (QM, where gazlowe is at minimum overtuned, per official stats) games against both Gazlowe and D.va, the strength of D.ha in lane was far more frustrating and felt stronger than what Gazlowe did over the course of the full game.

No, he has enough downsides in his design as is, like everything being telegraphed, turrets being easy to destroy, and no mobility, among others.

And a gamewinning ult that unless an enemy team completely counters (all mobile team with a click of a button) you lose but the devs refuse to nerf

Except it is not that strong.
Not only you can smell Gaz out a km away before he tries to do his wombo and needs 2 abilities to pull it off properly, he also can get CC’d or dodged with mobility (both popular mechanics), while also smart positioning totally negating him.

If Gaz warrants some targeted nerfs, I’d agree they should happen. The problem is his power isn’t in his turrets anymore. It would probably be better to nerf his sustain a little from his Lazor if anything.
