Now that Anduin has been successfully added to the game with his fantasy largely left in-tact, can we get some major changes for Garrosh to put him in line with his. Not only would it do good for the hero itself, who is still largely banned in all levels of competitive play but it should also put him more in line with what the character should be about and make more of his talents viable.
Keep him a tank but, ironically enough, It’s his lesser heroic, Decimate, and it’s level 20 upgrade that i think he could be designed around. Have him be an aggressive brawler tank who can get into he thick of a fight and keep himself and allies safe by constantly weakening his opponents damage dealing output.
I think a design around “breaking the will” of his opponents is one more befitting for an angry orcish warrior. If they want to drop some flavor talents in his kit as well that would he sweet. Like maybe a lvl 20 passive that gives him a temporary old god transformation after being hit with a lethal attack that would work in a similar fashion to a combination Johanna’s “Indestructible” and Ragnaros’s trait, gaining a large amount of hp that would rapidly deplete over time.
Imo, there’s just a-lot more they can do with Garrosh with all the characterization he’s had over numerous expansions, and he got a massive disservice by being implemented with a kit that’s a simple gimmick with very little about it screaming “Garrosh”. It just lacks personality or flash that is usually present in most heroes’ kits.
As long ad blizz refunds me or transfer anything garrosh related to the hero who will inherit his kit because i have zero interest in playing failol varian or artafail.
True but Op wants his whoke kit and function replaced.
I mean why not? As long as i get the same kit onto other hero and have full refund of all i have on garrosh because i wouldn’t touch the new hero at all.
Op and people thinking the same would be satisfied and people wanting garrosh’s current kit to still exist would too.
He’s more like failol Varian and Artanis as he is right now with his Throw. Im proposing that he actually does something unique like mitigating damage by weakening the damage of enemy heroes.
Garrosh is fine as it is. He never been a killer type warrior individually in the lore. Always a chaos maker, not killing blow dealer. They should just release Grom for fullfilling that role since he is the most requsted Hero at the moment.
Maybe… Idk tbh, because his regular build is actually SO powerful that I don’t even know what could be done to balance things out.
Q quest at 1 is just too good.
Unstoppable at 4 is just too good.
Into the fray at 7 is just too good.
AoE taunt at 10 is just too good.
Shield on Qs at 13 is just too good with his armor + Q cdr
Mini stun on E at 16 is just too good.
Throwing 2 enemies at 20 is just too good.
There’s literally no reason not to pick those talents and even if Blizzard buffed the other ones those would still be picked every game. Idk what could be done at this point. Maybe a talent rework could solve this. Or maybe only a full rework…
Go look at Hotslogs, then tell me he’s fine. He needs something, a talent rework, ability tweaks, something. He’s one of the most banned heroes in the game cuz nobody wants to play against him still, and has been so since he was released. There’s no playing him in ranked. In fact he’s so banned, his WR has actually dropped cuz so many people hate playing against him.
I dont think any hero since launch Kael’thas or launch Li Ming has been so universally despised.
i see nothing Wrong in Garrosh abilities and he very good and usefull hero
but i agree there is no choices in his talents and if you did not pick body check you will not pick any talent related to the ability so many talents will be usless
i think if they make body cheack as base ability (like Zul’jin Amani Rage) wil be better so the players will have more options in the talents
in lvl 16 most of the players pick Earthshaker and the other 2 talents are not very good option so maybe for eample if they make Groundbacker (Q) pull target to Garrosh if you pick one of the other lvl 16 talents players will have other option in lvl 16
They save the aggressive kit for Grommash probably which is more suitable. Otherwise Garrosh’s skill kit is fine tbh. Makes him unique among all other Tanks.
Unique? Stitches already has the single-target isolation thing and is not only way more fun to do it with, he just does it way better. Im saying Garrosh should still be a tank, but with a more aggressive play-style rather than sit back and wait for your opponents to screw up, I’m saying he should be more about taking to the frontlines and weakening his opponents through abilities, mitigating damage not just for him but his team as well.
When Grom shows up, he’s definitely not likely to be a tank, so I’m suggesting this because Garrosh is the tank and deserves to have something unique to him rather than just some generic brute kit that could be slapped onto any other strong-man hero.
That’s what i’ve been saying for years. Body Check NEEDS to be a baseline additional ability like Xul’s shield or Jaina’s iceblock (post quest completion). Its so useless as a talent, Warbreaker and Unrivaled Strength are not only always better choices for their utility and better damage, but are also just way easier to use and don’t require you to be near death to get value from. And then to add insult to injury, BC actually expects you to sacrifice several good talents to build into this one ability. It’s just never worth sacrificing versatility over raw damage as a tank in general nearly ever.
His talents in general have always been very clean cut in terms of viability. Why pick anything other than Indomitable at lvl4, why pick anything other than Into the Fray at 7, or earthshaker at 16. The only reason to ever pick Decimate over Challange is for the lvl20 upgrade(which is what i suggested his design should be about in the first place, cuz i think thats a very unique and interesting mechanic to design him around) otherwise why even pick a mediocre damage over an AoE CC and a short CD with an arguably better 20 upgrade.
I know a complete kit redesign for any hero is an unpopular opinion, but nothing about Garrosh makes sense for who he is. He’s neither standard orc Garrosh or Old Gods abomination Garrosh. The latter of which seems like a no brainer design-wise. They could have done to him what they’ve done to plenty of other heroes and made him the HotS version of a WoW spec. In this case an Arms Warrior, which would have also tied nicely into his SoO fight as the Legion arms warrior artifact, Stom’kar, had an Old Gods-esque ability with Warbreaker.
Garrosh isn’t Garrosh. He’s more similar to the Ettins you run away from in the worgen starting zone.
The entire Body Check line needs to go by the wayside. That’s a massive failed experiment. It combines the worst parts of talent trees into one; forced builds, Magikarp design, and just being plain underpowered. Why pick a talent that’s so much weaker than the other options just to gain the ability to use more talent tiers to make it feel worth while? Deckard has the same issue with the Gem talents.
Also, self-Unstoppable should be reserved for Heroics and level 20 talents. It probably shouldn’t be on level four talents. I mean, at least Garrosh isn’t a hero that’s particularly weak to CC, nor does it have a 16 second cooldown and come with 50 armour, but I’m getting off topic.
I’ll say this much: Nobody that has a ban-rate that monstrous and then gets picked up immediately after ban phase if he miraculously gets through is okay if it’s gone on for as long as it has for Garrosh. Just because he isn’t Maiev, Genji or Hanzo doesn’t magically make him okay. Tanks can be poorly designed, too, it isn’t the exclusive domain of assassins.
He doesn’t even just rely on the gimmick of toss and stun: he can just throw out the stun for disruption in the middle of team fights and do perfectly fine and still be strong, his gimmick is just one thing among several he does that puts him over the top. The extreme amounts of armor, his self-heal, his unstoppable on demand, an AoE stun, taunt, and a repositioning tool for allies and enemies if he can close the gap (exacerbated by anything that increases move speed, most notably Zarya’s level 4)? He’s strictly over-the-top, and has too much going on. As far as I’m concerned, anyone saying he’s fine as is right now shouldn’t be taken seriously in balance discussions.
