I’m not really “pro-smurfing”, I just understand why people do it. If blizzard fixed the problems, especially in ranked, there would be no need for smurfing at all.
I also understand why some people do bronze to GM challenges and I have no problem with that. But again, if ranked was that good at the top level, people wouldn’t smurf.
Idk, really…
I often get matched with people lower level (which could be the same people over and over again, I just never stopped to check). This sucks a lot, since the game tries to balance the lower levels but 1 side has a new player and the other one has a smurf, which then leads to stomps and unfun games.
I still think there should be a protection for new accounts for a few levels. Probably also a system where the game checks the account status after each match and if the values are actually really high paired with lots of wins it would idenfity it as a smurf and just give big amount of points and stop trying to pair it with low level accounts (same should happen in ranked tbh).
And that’s fine. If he doesn’t suck he can stay around Plat. If he sucked he would drop a lot, especially since he gets 500-600 points each match for playing again after a long time.
as someone that has 16000 games of AI, AI is NOT the place you want people learning how to play. If you don’t know the hero and want to goof around and kill bots, then AI is ok. But learning the game play against people.
MMR dictates that new people will be matched with other new or unskilled people and so anyone who is reasonably skilled and plays frequently will never see them in matches unless carried by a friend. The only exception to this in ARAM mode which still has no match making as far as I am aware.
When a HOTS player pulls a friend over who is high ranked in league of legends or dota and guides him a bit, I can tell you guys that their first game of QM they’re gonna play better than majority of you posting in here
Problem is there’s a ton of frauds out there claiming “I was challenger in LoL (equivalent to top 10 GM in HotS)” when they’re a bronze reject who ragequit the game because it was too complex for them.
There are some good players who migrated from there, but a large majority, especially those boasting of high ranks still magically get stuck in silver or bronze for years. Then blame Blizzard for it. Casting doubt on whether they were ever higher than Silver in LoL either.
At least a tutorial before going into human modes would be nice, back in 2015-2017 you had to finish a tutorial before you could even play AI, on your first login.
