For those having trouble with new Cassia

I’ll share the only build I could make her work really well.

Level 1: Thunderstroke.
Level 4: Inner Light.
Level 7: Surge of Light.
Level 10: Either ultimate.
Level 13: War Matron.
Level 16: Static Electricity. (major power spike)
Level 20: Rockstopper.

[T1331124,Cassia]

This is a build that a friend of mine shared with me and he said was quite op. I tried everything basically, full Q, full AA, some mixed talents, but this one was the best one BY FAR. Like, it is extremely good.

Your level 1 is the Q quest. This not only boosts your Q damage, but also grants 5 armor on your trait. Even if you lose trait, you will be just spamming Qs and getting the armor back very fast. You also don’t have to worry about AAing the enemy that much.

Your level 4 is just a nice sustain/protection. 25% of her hp is quite a lot and you reduce the cd of it by 10 sec for every Q hit. You are basically spamming them, so this is good.

Your level 7 is the same as before rework, just really good burst. Cassia is still quite melee with 4.5 range, and this is good when you are playing close. It is also pretty easy to stack, and with armor on trait you can even stack on towers a bit.

Your level 10 just depends on what you like. If the enemy team is playing way far back, you could take Valkyrie just to catch someone and blow them up. If you are don’t need that, I’d say just go for ball lightning and use it when the fight starts for extra burst.

Your level 13 gives you protected btw on your E. This is good to soak some damage. Damage soaked also counts towards surge of light at 7.

At level 16 you have your major powerspike. You get +2 charges on your Q, so now you got 4. You also throw a Q on nearby heroes when you use Fend. THIS IS SO GOOD!!! This helps you stack your level 1, this deals incredible extra damage, this also reduces the cd of your level 4 healing. It is just amazing!

At level 20 you get armor just for more protection. It is on a really short cd (30 sec), the armor is pretty good and it fully charges your trait, so if you drop it you can use it to get it back instantly.

This is the game I just had with it:

Well, unfortunately I didn’t have the same success with other builds and they might need buffs, but this one is really really great.

Exactly the same build I do. She doesn’t have much talent diversity but she is certainly not underpowered.

I just miss pressing E and watching people melt.
Or early game crits on blinded targets. Absolutely amazing for chunking people.

Yeah, this build is amazing. Sadly that if you go anything else she feels weak af

I actually loved the AA build before.

The only difference is sometimes I go plate of the whale. It provides good self sustain.

Burst is a must have with how squish she is.

Just remember this talent is bugged now. If you pick it while having full trait, you won’t get the full heal. You need to drop trait first.

Rockstopper is an awful lvl 20 talent, especially when the lvl 20 Valkyrie takes a bad ult and makes it good, and lvl 20 lightning ball can be insanely good.

Other than that I agree. Inner Light is the only one of her sustain talents that is any good IMO.

Her blind stuff is really hard to get any value out of now, especially since the radius talent is gone.

Also you can just go Fend at 1 - since the range can help you escape/finish and the damage bump from Thunderstroke just isn’t that high.

Will Q leave you mana hungry?

I think it’s a good defensive talent, maybe not Storm Talent worthy though.
It’s main strength is being able to instantly charge your armor, though it still doesn’t help during a stun. Rather than instantly charging armor I’d prefer it just be capable of pausing your armor duration whenever you’re stunned or rooted. I think I’d pick that at 20 even if it didn’t have an active to double the armor.

Yes, kinda. You will need to go back a couple times.

There’s no reason to play the MOBA built on talents when there’s no talent diversity. I may as well play DOTA2 when it has talents and then some. (not crapping on your post, more of a callout to the devs who can’t seem to figure out what talents should be about)

I haven’t touched Dota2 in years.
Heard they got talents AND fountains.

I don’t understand why they gave her a Protected talent for Fend, when her base kit could be effectively played well for better survival before. It seems dumb to make Fend a survival skill, rather than the damage skill it should always be.

I guess they viewed fend as a risky talent and giving it a talent that actually prevented you from taking damage was interesting or something.
The thing is you can already have 30 armor for the duration and shortly after, so this seems really unnecessary except against burst heavy comps.

Fend being a risk by diving in and not having any armor was compensation for it’s potential damage. Now it only tickles people but it relatively safe and serves a gap closer, though you don’t really need one when you’re a ranged assassin.

Try this:
1: Impale
4: Plate of the Whale
7: Surge of light
10: Ball Lightning
13: War Traveller
16: Static Electricity
20: Infinite Lightning/Rockstopper

Huge Burst with nice sustain in long fights

To migate damage, so she does not get bursted down.

Why dont you like valkyrie?

You could gap close with it before and use Charged Strikes to damage moving targets. On top of this, Fend no longer drops Avoidance (assuming you can stack it and keep it there). Like, why bother changing these aspects for this one talent that is redundant by virtue of the new rework?

She was better before…

Oh no definitely.
This rework universally dropped her damage and didn’t even strictly improve her survivability.
