Was just playing as Fenix, and I realized he doesn’t really have a “W” ability, as switching between Basic Attack modes seems more like a “D” function than an actual ability that costs Mana. Thinking an ability that activates Fenix’s shield-recharge could be appropriate, named “Capacitor Override”
It would cost little Mana, like 35, but then have a longer Cooldown than his other Basic Abilities, much like Stitches’ “Devour” or Jim Raynor’s “Adrenaline Rush”
Talents Include:
- Clutch Capacitor: Each Enemy Hero hit by “Plasma Cutter” reduces the Cooldown of “Capacitor Override” by 0.5 seconds.
- Increase Capacity: Quest: Every 10 Regen Globes collected increases the recharge rate of “Capacitor Override”
- Synchronized Restoration: While “Capacitor Override” is active, increase your Health Regeneration.
The 2nd & 3rd Talents would be offered at the same Level to prevent anti-synergy. Otherwise, players don’t get the Health Regen benefit if their shield recharges faster.
Not gonna be able to play Fenix again until he’s an actually completed Hero…plz repair!
Cheers
Fenix is a complete hero.
That said, your idea isn’t crazy. Would his shield ONLY charge using “Capacitor Override”, or would that just be a backup button?

Fenix is working as intended. Juggling your W takes a little time to get used to and come up with builds that compliment your playstyle. W is the main part of his kit, and not a “D” talent… “D” talents typically have cooldowns.
W should be toggled to really master Fenix.
Don’t know if this is a troll post, but I’ll respond in good faith.
He doesn’t need an ability. His kit is arguably already overstuffed as his design came from a period when the designers went with the kitchen sink approach and stopped thinking about weaknesses. He can pretty much already do anything. Ranged, Sustain through shield), AOE, single target damage, an escape, slows, and no resource limitation.
And how would you add a mana cost a hero that doesn’t have any? And why do you think Fenix needs more in combat shield regeneration? The whole point is that it’s free and fast but the trade off is you need to stop getting hit just like in SC2.

Seconding Volun. He’s already a swiss army knife with his abilities: Good dps, good wave clear, good bulk for an assassin, good escape, and due to his shield is good at zipping in and out of combat.
