Fenix's Hitbox is a bit large

Similar to old Kael’thas’ cape, Fenix was given a larger hitbox for identity reasons. He has a unit radius of 1.06, the same as Anub’arak and Stitches. Hammer and Azmodan are 1.19, Zagara is 1.13, and then Kel’thuzad is 0.88. The next largest AA heroes are Falstad, Raynor, and Tychus at 0.81.

His winrate and overall performance is actually pretty solid atm for a niche hero, but I think his current hitbox leaves little room for skill expression. He really can’t dodge lots of stuff that a short range (only 5.0 repeater cannon, 6.25 phase bomb) auto attacker needs to be able to do. Case in point, this Dehaka tongue clip which has a square corner hitbox so it connects when visually its a miss

I think Fenix should join KTZ at 0.88 unit radius.

It’s the tradeoff to having regenerating shields and a teleport.

Those mechanics have their own downsides already / are pretty balanced. Maybe they are felt less in QM but in coordinated play these lead to some significant weaknesses for the hero.

  • It takes a whole 15 seconds for shields to come back online, longer if you get hit more, effectively removing you from the fight since your remaining HP is enough to get you instakilled with 1 CC. A healer can reset someone much faster than that.
  • Warp has a 0.5 cast time, which is an eternity against good tank players. They will interrupt your escape every time.

A smaller hitbox should help him in higher rank without affecting him much in QM and low rank.
