Hello everyone,

I Don’t have the update yet (EU), but i would like to know what did you think about it already ?
They’re fantastic. Two wins in a row with Azmo doing aggressive lane pushing and some minor team-fight assists.
Thanks for the first feedback
It is absolute trash in every way
why please ? We need argument here
I really like the new EXP formula. I’ve only played 2 games so far since the changes, won one, lost the other, but neither games were stomps. In fact, in both games, the game ended with both teams at the same level.
Whatever they changed really was for the better. It doesn’t feel oppressive when you fall a little bit behind. Comebacks could have easilly happened in either game for either side. Now skill actually pays off.
They need to be reverted, you can play the game without taking the objectives and win by gaining a severe level advantage. This entire xp system is a failure.
How many games have you played with the new changes?
Just trying to gauge whether you have really experienced this or just crying the sky is falling.
I don’t really understand how giving a Perma +20% Exp / Fort bonus will prevent snowballing more than before?
In my own opinion, that was much better when there was no bonus experience at all; like just before the patch note today.
We’ll see I guess
all of you are going to be complaining so much in a week.
It doesn’t feel good imo. The matches feel slow and slugish now. One of the reasons why I avoided playing games like League of Legends and preferred Hots was that the matches in Hots last anywhere from 15-20 minutes on average. Now they take double the amount of time. I don’t feel rewarded for split pushing due to the exp nerfs and the siege minion every 3 waves doesn’t feel rewarding. Supposedly the “Snowballing” is gone but make no mistake even with these exp changes it’s still very much there. Overall I feel like these changes solved nothing, if anything all it has done is slow the game down.
5 now, 2 qm, 3 TL. The changes they added after feedback on the ptr have made no difference to the playstyle.
The idea would be to have the reward to be delayed/stretched out instead of an instant boost that enables you to get more and more advantages in a short time.
If the current changes will actually achieve this, i can´t tell yet.
In a situation where a team wins the objective in, let’s say Alterac Pass or Tomb of the Spider Queen, if that teams takes 2 or 3 fort down, that would be a bit absurd.
Of course, they won’t feel their reward instantly, but whatever happens, if they play safe, they have a +40% or +60% bonus experience that the opposite team can’t do anything besides taking 3 fort down as well to keep up. Any trade (minions, kills, mercenaries) will increase the gap between the teams.
In my own opinion, that is just slowing down the game; not preventing snowballing. However, I will have to test this first before saying it’s that bad.
On Alterac if you get the first objective you most likely won no matter how much you mess up the rest of the game. 2 or 3 forts down means you get way more xp + tons of pressure during second objective.
Previously, if the team got 2 or 3 forts down with the objective, that immediately puts them up 2+ levels. Usually that means a talent advantage meaning you can’t fight the other team now. With the changes, the XP isn’t added immediately, you will still be on even talent tiers though if you do nothing for the next few minutes, they will eventually be able to get ahead.
The XP changes are meant to give you a chance to come back. You lost the objective, and 2-3 forts, but you can still win a teamfight due to even levels. But if you do nothing at all, then of course the team that played better and used its advantages should win.
The XP changes are not meant to give bad or worse teams an easy way out. The team that plays better in the early game still gets advantages, but not all at once so “anti-snowball”. You still can be snowballed if you’re just that much worse that you get outplayed at every stage in the game.
Unfortunately, the majority of players still don’t understand that minion soak and getting camps is THE KEY in the early game. Hero kills don’t matter very much at all unless those kills stop the enemy from soaking or getting a camp.
Stop fighting for no gain. Send 2 of your players to get camps while the other three defend near their towers and soak. Use the camps to attack and push down a tower or two. Rinse and repeat. That is the basic strategy that will win most games in lower ranks.
You are down 2-3 levels early because you are not soaking and getting merc camps. No changes prevent you from being down levels because you refuse to soak and fight mindlessly over mid for no gain. You must soak lanes and get camps.
it sucks if you end up on a team that’s just pushing core on v.s. ai.
as a previous reply put, part of the idea is to shift the reward away drom an immediate boost but the other part is the catapults. On their own, the extra catapult can extend how far out a wave is, which can increasee the risk of soaking. Some of the ptr feedback pointed out that early forts could be a liability because of how the xp changes seemed like a disadvantage to the side ahead.
So the current change looks to offset some of the potential xp lost for opporunity. osts with passive boosts
What is snowballing? I mean how can you tell you are?
You just look up and look at the xp? What do you see?
Or is it even before that, when that Nazeebo dies 3 times in 3 minutes?
Is the game snowballing the players? Or are the players snowballing the game?
IMO, better MM. Which QM currently offers. I’d like to say i defend the QM changes. QM is a valid game type and it should be playable. Tank and healer Q times are fast. Since when DPS Q was ever fast in any game ever?
HL is different, some ranks are understaffed. That is a structural problem, not something to do with the players.
Hit the nail on the head Blizzard.
I don’t like it after playing a few matches (unranked mainly with a few TL), my opinion hasn’t really changed from PTR. I’m not having fun with it.
