I’ve joined the super ultrawide monitor life and I love it. Though HotS doesn’t officially support 5120x1440, you can still do it through the Geforce Experience software.
So what I’m looking for: I’d like to be able to define my left and right margins, before the actual screen edge, to allow left and right panning. Obviously, the pitfall of using ultrawide, super ultrawide, and maybe even 16:9 resolutions for some, is how far the mouse needs to travel from edge to edge, to pan left or right. This doesn’t even need to offer complicated settings, just a percentage, like 100% would be the absolute edge, 80% would be 10% from the edge on each side, and so on, down to a minimum value like 50%, which is 25% from each edge.
I really enjoy playing in 5120x1440, it’s pretty immersive, but panning left to right is a huge pain. I’ve put hours into the other options for screen panning and they just don’t feel natural at all.
I don’t know if any other games have this sort of thing, but man it would be nice. Feels like a simple thing. I guess official super ultrawide resolution support would have to come first? /shrug
I feel like there used to be a suggestions sub forum, but I couldn’t find it?

Just curious why do people love ultrawide over normal monitors. You can buy a 4k for the same price
I think it’s hard to explain until you try it. My original goal was to simply to replace my multimonitor setup with a seamless solution. Has something to do with how it fits within my peripheral vision, feels much more immersive I guess.
I’ve played on 4k, both monitor and TV. 5120x1440 has a little less pixel density than many of the 4k monitor options right now, but I’d easily trade that for the super ultrawide experience.

You made me look up 3 videos everyone with one recommends it over a 4k

I suppose that alone has made my thread at least productive, in a sense, if nothing else.
I have the Odyssey G9 from Samsung. It does everything I want except the kind of quality HDR I am looking for. The local dimming on this monitor is garbage, but right now there’s no better options for the ultrawide scenario. That said the HDR is still decent, just no where near on par with my TV.

As a side note, 5120x1440 are a few less pixels than 3840x2160 meaning that the former resolution will be a little lighter on your video card.
