Escape from Braxis (Heroic) difficulty

Hey guys I’ve posted about this brawl in the past saying how it’s too difficult. I think my record is somewhere around 4-58 it seems no matter if I group, what I say or do, how we draft all doesn’t matter. Mostly don’t even see people make it past the first area. I will no longer play this brawl again. I also would like to know if there is a way to get it removed from my record.

I would pay something like 10$ to get this heroic mode removed from my record. Like in hearthstone, my cousin said how they don’t keep track of losses, and for that he is glad. Well I don’t mind my record being kept track of except for this. 4-60 I don’t feel like this is recoverable as I’ve said before seems no matter what I do it only gets worse. So I am done. And if I am stuck with it on my record that I am very angry. If I had known how this was going to be near-impossible I would have never signed up to lose 60 and be lucky to win 4.
Almost even won a 5th one once. Auriel resurrected me when boss was at 1% and I died instantly, mid flight with colossal smash. Maybe some people have a lot more luck than me with this, to them grats. I still say let me have an option for it to not display on my record+ never playing this mode again.

I advise using Greymane, Lucio, and Twinblade Varian with victory rush.

Greymane for at second round for extra % damage and for boss with the aoe basic attacks (worgen)

Varian for pure sustain.

Lucio for aoe sustain

The other two i guess could be either Zarya, Sonya, Kharazim, and then a ranged assassin

Y’know, I just realized that if Malthael were allowed into this brawl, he’d actually be useful in his current state for once.

No matter what, always make sure you have a Lucio or an Insight Kharazim on your team. They can pump out enough AoE healing to keep you alive. Also, never split up from your healer. Wherever you go, make sure you have a healer with you, even if that means picking 2 healers.

This is not a mode where you can pick any hero and succeed. If you do not have atleast 1 tier one hero for this mode or have very weak wave clear / single target dps, you can forget it.

Here’s how i beat it easily, i even did it solo. (having people knowing what to do helps).

Xul and/or Zarya make dealing with all the smaller minions easy mode. Zarya’s shield is usefull for support and zarya is guarenteed to stay 50% + energy easily. Xul’s aoe does Physical aoe which is the best kind of aoe because it allows xul to deal with the roaches quicker. (they have a 50% spell armor).
For healer lucio performs the best since he can heal everyone at the same time and his ult shield helps alot.

After those 3 you need strong single target. Greymane innerbeast build with cursed bullet is the best choice. Does the best amount of hero damage. During the final boss, his worgen cleave makes dealing with the worm phase alot easier.
Zul’jin is not bad ether single target wise, although he’s weak early on, zuljin’s single target dps is unmatched but does not possess the versatility that greymane provides.

The 5th spot can be a decent wildcard, you can ether go Arthas (trait/attackspeed build). This guy can tank anything. Or Varian with his twin blade build is also a solid choice.

Heroes you should generally avoid are those who primarily rely on spells to do their work and have weak auto attack damage. For example: jaina, kelthuzad & kael’thas. (Not gul’dan, he surprisingly works very well, but there are better choices) and single target healers. (morales is forgiveable if you have basicly all of the above heroes and you know what you are doing).

It’s really not that hard, don’t be afraid to use items but please don’t use them right at the end of the clock when it’s pointless to use. Be smart with the items. Especially early on.

Pick Cassia with Ball lightning 10/20 and deal 5x more damage to the last boss alone than your entire team together

You cannot pick a bunch of squishies in heroic difficulty and expect to win. Double healer is viable and works but your team must know to go slow and not overextend at anytime.

S-tier heroes are Zarya, Varian, Lucio, Karazim (Insight), Xul, Sonya, Greymane (questionable due to lack of sustain and melee).

It is a mistake to pick mages or heroes that rely on cooldowns to do damage. You need auto-attack heroes. Beefy heroes that have self sustain are key, you’re not going to burst down the bosses, you have to sustain through their damage.

Best for last boss, valla, Cassia, none stop damage :triumph:

That’s why it’s awesome , leave it this way

I still upset why leoric not there :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

This Brawl is meant to be super hard. That’s the challenge, that its purpose. That’s why ppl like it (not you, obviously).

I won it with a team of:
Zarya (me)
Alex (my friend)
Jimmy
Winblades
Sonya

My first wins in this brawl are always with Gaz  (hp regen/turrets on bomb stun/robo/bomb on stun, etc etc)

I wrote an entire guide on Braxis and the Hero picks you want to aim for:

https://heroeshearth.com/b/kith/read/kiths-escape-from-braxis-hero-guide/

Build a team with no more than 1 B-rank Hero and everyone else A or S and you’ll do fine.

And ofc the 4 turrets with hero lesser… oooo no word

It is perfectly fine to dislike a brawl type and just outright skip it due to being unfun or for the sake of your blood pressure in the case it requires victories. I myself skip both heroic zerg brawls because I always get people that treat it like the normal brawl, and yet I have had normal mode groups fail due to too many potatoes on the team.

Gave it a try this time and picked I varian, only to get a team of hanzo, jaina, kael’thas, and brightwing. Going back to just skipping it unless I can get my friend to premade it.

I wouldn’t mind it if you got xp for it- 15 min match of this for 30k xp, or 15min QM for 200k xp.

I just lost 7 in a row, considering giving up on this f’d up bullst.

Eh, it’s not all that hard. Just won with xul, cassia, tyrael, cain, Raynor. Took about 8 tries.

The secret sauce is 2 warriors, 2 specialists and 1 healer…no assassins for pete sake

Just finished it on the second try with: Winblades Varian, Lucio (me), Sonya, Zarya, and Artanis. The only real key is to stay together, don’t overpull, and kill everything you do pull. Save displacement or interrupts for the Abathur tunnel, as he is amazingly annoying.

You want either Blaze or Zarya, Kharazim, Lucio, Greymane, Raynor, or Valla, and Varian.

Varian tanks bosses (with twin blades and second wind + shield wall for the banelings). Zarya or Blaze clears roaches. Kharazim off-DPSes and heals. Lucio heals. Greymane (or other, inferior picks) murders things.

Save stims and nukes for final boss. Kill the nydus ASAP. Kill Abathur and Murky’s egg.

I know mages are awful on heroic, but wanted to try it with Jaina specifically. However one guy was adamant on going Kael’thas and our Lucio asked someone to pick second support, Li Li specifically. As I actually wanted to pick Li Li the next game, I took her right away.

We had quite some trouble, but still won in 12:57 with Li Li, Lucio, Varian, Sonya and Kael’thas. Kael was on a brink of death half the time and died several times, but we won. Li Li has infinite mana, does heal a lot when someone is at low HP, can save a teammate with her blinds and synergizes well with Lucio’s shield. She’s good as a second support to someone with aoe heals.
