Dota just got a new hero, patch changes to all existing heroes, entire jungle reworked, map changes, global xp and gold changes, half the items reworked, and a hero rework (techies)
And all this came right after the biggest event of last year ended.
Meanwhile in HOTS we’re still waiting for a fix to the 137mb update bug kekw.

Not exactly a fair comparison - a game with no active developer team left (only a tiny Classic team that manages all 4 classic Blizzard games including Diablo 2 and SC2) and a company with hundreds of developers working on their game?
I don’t get people who expect HotS to still get a ton of updates in 2022. Do people not follow events? Do people even know the company is being bought out by Microsoft?

I guess the purpose of this thread was just to remind ppl of the sad but obvious. Sounds like a whine thread in disguise.
dota 2 also went more years without a new hero than hots has existed.
That, or suggesting that with a bit of love, nothing is impossible.
Given my own coding history I’m positive that certain things like events, skins, or even tiny changes to maps like visuals or random/rotating camps shouldn’t take hundreds of developers, so enticing people to pay a small sub-with-benefits (boost + bits of gems/shards) might be possible with a bit of content. I’m not big about new heroes but I’m not too against, either. Just don’t require me to play them in SL.
Besides playing the game, some people also pay for DotA+.
Just clone it. This game is unique and has a potential market niche.
I’ve been taking an extended break from hots due to this reason. Not because of Dota but just too stale for me to enjoy at the moment. It’s a shame because Im someone who spends money on this game.

Then go play Dota 2 if that game happens to satiesfie you better. Just dont come running back to us when you find out Dota 2 was not for your likeing and you realise Hots was better even without any updates.
Lmao Dota 2 was my first game. I came to HOTS from Dota many years ago, I don’t have to realise anything, I know that game inside out.
Having resources is nice indeed. Still, implementing massive changes isn’t inherently positive. Totally changing years of established meta requires years of balancing.
Dota devs actually fix balance really quickly.
The patch just released today and within a few days there will most likely already be the next patch to balance the new hero and other OP heroes.
It’s not like in HOTS where we had rehgod be OP for months

The new mustang just got even more new features and now has an even better engine. Meanwhile my dodge neon just sits in my driveway waiting to take me to work of all places. No new improvements whatsoever.
