Done with this 'game'

Aside from this being to millionth such post, it is simply not fun.

Only 1 in 6 games is actually enjoyable. That’s 1 ‘fun’ game every 2-3 hours of playtime. By fun, I mean a team that is actually trying to play and enjoys it. The other 5 are ruined by one of the many common issues well voiced about the game.

  • Bot’s right off the bat.
  • Blatant fails from hero select. Switching a tank/healer to Nova out of spite etc…
  • 50% of games have someone that just lanes the whole game, usually a mage or tank, refuses to actually participate in anything.
  • Seemingly every other game has someone that just ‘gives up’ after 30 seconds & proceeds to just walk back and forth in the base.
  • Someone that sits at spawn for the first 90s of the game.

In 99% of cases any of these result in an instant loss. Either through their actions or reactions of others.

What I don’t understand is how such players are still ranked at all, or why they even attempt to play in ranked.

I’m by no means suggesting I’m any good at the game, but the sheer levels of complete idiocy on top of the aforementioned issues from players, almost every game just removes any chance of actually enjoying the game when you want to try and progress.

The usual white knight response of “The other team has those too” is irrelevant, I don’t care if I win or lose, I just want to play with people that actually give an S%^t about the game, on both sides. Apparently, that’s too much to ask.

The reporting system is also a pile of crap, nearly every game has someone being toxic in chat, AFK, blatantly botting, and/or spam reporting because they are a special snowflake. Yet these people are still in nearly every single game I play.

Oh ok.

You forgot you have to wait forever in queue to experience the above. Kek.

Why don’t you leave if you don’t enjoy it instead of make forum post about it then?

I mean one option accomplishes what you want to do and the other just stalls your time to enjoy another game.

These kind of posts harm nobody, I mean we weren’t forced to read it. I kinda understand why we get these kind of posts. People can invest a lot of emotional energy and attachment to a game. They often feel a sense of loss. Just like IRL with loss, some want to share, some want to keep to themselves and move on, etc…

It’s called feedback…

Could’ve called it by a better thread title then. “X, x and X is bad in this game”. I mean if you’re going to quit, then why even give feedback?

Isn’t that the time when feedback would be useful, why did x player leave the game? I have some people on my friends list who are leaving or taking an extended break simply because they can’t stand the long queues for Quick Match.

I can no longer respond to you in a polite way. So I won’t.
You’re the guy doing camps during curse

Have a nice day.

I stopped playing for honor this year after a decent run. I like the game i just got bored. Guess where you can read my i quit post?

Welcome to the internet.
When you play a team-game with random players you will get bad experiences too. It’s not avoidable. Everytime you had a good experience, you should add those players to your friends-list. I almost never play this game solo anymore because there are always some friends online, including RL friends. This game is really cool when you play regularly with the same group of people in TL.

You are not alone. I have the exact experience in HL. I do not know how people don’t go crazy while trying to rank up in HL. This problem is made worse when game mechanics don’t let you carry bad team mates and reporting does nothing. I’ve given up on HL and switched to TL with friends.

That would be the ideal. However, I don’t want to sit down for hours and sort a party etc whenever I want to have a game just to avoid the toxicity. Relying on others being available, and subsequently being available for others, just to enjoy it, is not Ok. I had enough of that with WoW for the best part of a decade.

Dismissing the real issues, expecting the community to police itself honestly and without bias, is why the game is in such a state to begin with. The notion itself is a complete joke.

e.g On my last game 5th pick ranged like mad because ‘I’ being 3rd to pick, did not pick a healer.

Despite me not saying a word, not a peep, I mean… I did nothing wrong. He somehow convinced 3 people to report me… He then proceeded to just semi-afk all game. These are the kind of people we are forced to deal with.

If the system worked, he wouldn’t be playing, as no doubt, he acts that way every game. Clearly, it doesn’t. It only penalizes anyone that plays ‘a lot’.

FYI - This wasn’t intended as a discussion, merely my own feedback. the same way I review an Amazon purchase or movie…

I quit a while ago. Once they reworked most of the older characters and reworked armor…it just killed the game for me.

i am 100% with you, you said it all :sob:

“lol its just a game” usual cucks at ranked.

I feel like every one of those issues in the op is also an issue in every other moba so I hope you aren’t leaving to go play LOL thinking that everyone will draft well every game and that there will be no leavers or trolls all of a sudden.

it is pretty widely known that mobas are just more problematic with trolly and bad players… I mean some of those other games even have surrender buttons to cater to those trolly losers.

And before you think “I am a high ranked player I wont get matched with those players” think again, you will.

several of the people in the why did you start playing hots threads stated all of the above reasons in other mobas so this is not a hots problem…

thought I should throw that out there.

Probably, tho I have no intention of playing LOL. The state of that game was apparent after one evening. Doesn’t make this any less laughable, in a cringy ‘what are they even thinking’ way.

Toxic players are to be expected in any free game, that’s not the issue. the issue is that nothing is done to deter them. In fact, it’s the complete opposite.

Let’s put it simply.

  • Player A decided diving 5v1 would be ‘fun’, or just afk lane all game.
  • Player B asked them politely “please don’t dive 5v1” or “please join team fights”
  • Player B gets reported and punished for being toxic…

The system actively encourages people to be toxic. Because ‘The internet’.
