I like the sylvanas rework. but I think for how slow she attacks and just her play style as a auto attacker, she needs better range. It feels like in most cases its a lot harder for her to secure kills and it’s not even the fact that her damage is low. I think one issue with her right now is that she doesn’t have the range to make up for her play style and medium single target damage balance wise.
If I recall, she can get bonus movespeed, which greatly helps her with most range issues. True, she’s still left weak against poking, but the speed compensates most of the other weak points left by her range nicely, and offers greater chances of survival against divers.
That’s a talent tho and if that’s the case then they should make it baseline because either it would be a must pick talent in a lot of cases or she won’t be able to get it because of curtain builds. I think she would be better off with better range.
I think a lot of people are building her wrong. I feel like W build is a trap build, yet most of people I play with play only that.
shadow dagger is really good but still she has the issue of her not being that good as an auto attacker mainly because of her range.
Actually, her AA is not slow at all (quite the opposite). You have to move a lot in order to survive though. You can pick Remorseless if you want more range. It also has other benefits making it quite an attractive talent choice (it helps spreading your banshee stacks to other targets). If you pair it with the lvl 1 dagger quest and Lost Soul talent, you get a scary AoE DoT dmg build.
If you are bold enough and trust your team, you can also try Festering Wounds talent. I personally don’t like it since you can’t really affort to trust your teammates but in a premade group, that talent can be awesome.
Personally, I don’t think so. She has a lot more raw damage than most AA assassins when she’s stacked, it’s not bursty (unless you’re ulting) but she also brings a lot of utility to the table, much better than being drafted as an off switch to structures.
I think she needs something. Maybe a auto attack damage buff because besides shadow dagger, her damage doesn’t feel good enough and she also has to use her escape to deal enough damage. I think they should have put more thought in her kit to were she can build around either her auto attacks and abilities because right now shadow dagger build is just too strong.
Gave W quest few more tries and its MUCH better with Festering Winds. (cba to check hotslogs, but I dont think its popular talent)
remove first part of her trait that stuns minions/mercs and instead giver her new one that lowers cooldown of haunting wave
I don’t think her W build is too strong. It’s the only way you’re going to find yourself getting top dmg on her, and that’s only b/c it’s AoE. You can build Sylv in a way that dominates 1v1 scenarios, but ultimately I agree that she needs more range. Her survivability is very low when she is forced to keep getting in range to maintain 3 stacks. Any player with half a brain runs away when you start autoing them. Even smart tanks will move back when you try to get stacks on them. Meaning you end up having to put yourself in extremely precarious positions to maintain 3 stacks. I feel she either needs a bit higher range or for stacks to last a bit longer.
She has remorseless at level 13 that gives her +1 range. But I really doubt they’d make that baseline as it would make her W build OP.
Can we stop giving every marksman broken range for gods sake? 7.5 range was ridiculous on hanzo, and 6.5 is completely unnecessary on raynor. How about you learn to position correctly and have your team back you up so you don’t need to rely on a ridiculous attack range to be effective? Next thing i know you guys are going to be asking for baseline farflight quiver on valla.

Also it would not be a great idea to make her trait less punishable with increased range.
The point is: Hanzo and Raynor can AA you once, step back and reached their goal by just dealign that one AA - it did dmg. Sylvanas has to stack three AAs to make her other abilities and talents work and her AAs themselfs only tickle. If they changes her trait and talents to scale according to the amount of stacks on a target, I wouldn’t complain about her short AA range either.
I don’t think so; her W build would still only be viable against melee heavy teams, since it spreads only in a very small area - but it would make her more viable in general, since she could actually stack her trait on a target in a teamfight without getting poked to death easily. So far I see no reason to pick her over other assassins that reach her goal to deal damage much more easily.
