Recently, every match in qm I meet from 2 to 8 accounts with 1 to ~200 lv that exist in the game for 7-9 years, and when I open their profile - they have only 10-20 recent games for this week, the rest games were 1-3-9 years ago. Very often they only play 1 hero, like Reynor or Jaina.
Does anyone encounter something like this? I meet them now every game in qm for a long time now…

I do meet them, and then they open their mouth. No i don’t think i have met a bot recently, only really really bad players. The kind of players that are legit in bronze and want to educate others on how bad others are with their bronze education(or even a silver, gold).

I run into bots sometimes, usually late night. Harder to tell than you think. I’ve got a lili main on my list who consistently has a play history entirely full of qm lili games. I’ve got two d.va mains that do the same (with d.va games, obv). In the past I’ve gone hard on zuljin, lili, orphea, guldan, or tracer for a time.
Doesn’t mean they’re not bots. Especially with Raynor, though a lot of actual Raynor mains also play him almost exclusively and superficially like a bot. More recently I’ve noticed a couple times where I’m pretty sure someone was dual boxing, maybe even babysitting a bot or using scripts to help manage two heroes at once.
IDK, it’s QM. People have always been quick to shout “bot”. I report 'em if I catch them out, but if they aren’t actively (actually) throwing or playing beyond a skill level I normally see, I don’t worry about it too much.
Gamers when they realise that people can reinstall games they never played in 7 years.
Drop the tin foil hat bro.

Yeah, but not every game and not 50% of the roster. That’s exactly what I’ve got. Hots don’t have that many returning players obviously.

On the contrary. Probably most of the players you see daily are returning players because official support for the game has been abandoned years ago.
I have had entire matches where profile inspections yield nothing but people whose last match was 2-9 years ago.
You would be hard-pressed to find many people who still play HotS daily. I for one play only 5-10 matches a month now, and a few ARAM’s on top of that.
I have zero friends left who play HotS. All my HotS friends have quit. The few that still play Blizz games like D4 I can invite into a match, but their match history will show they last played a year ago because they just don’t care about the game anymore.

That’s known in the business as a “Jimmy Lanner.” They take the Exterminator talent at level 1 and just slowly push lanes with camps.
From the day I joined Hots, there have always been a section of people who almost exclusively play (at least the majority of their games) with one hero. I mean, I’ve seen a million and one Naz and Azmodan main’s, but they weren’t bots.
I think the only occasion I may have encountered real botting was in VS AI games.
Only games where I maybe had a suspecion that they were a bot were when I saw a player not taking any talents before lvl 10. They also never reacted to what was told in chat and mostly played the game in thier own little world.
Doesn’t sound like a bot to me, that sounds more like a little kid who opened the game on their parents’ computer but had no idea what was going on. I used to do stuff like that all the time when I was 10.

Unfortunately, I’ve encountered players who do this, but they weren’t bots, unless they also programmed chat responses.
I’ve had a few of these players say not selecting talents is an essential part of their trolling, as it lets the enemy team know your team either has a troll, or a bot, as talents for bots can often take many minutes to be selected depending on when the player disconnected. The enemy can see the lack of talents being picked in the tab screen, I’ve been matched with players who stayed connected for the entire match, but selected no talents, but were typing in chat.
Off-topic, but I almost pity these trolls that go to these very elaborate measures, they have often been playing for eight hours, losing game after game, in a dead game. They must place no value on their own limited time in this world.
I’m pretty much 100% sure they added bots to qm that mimic real players.
They all have 9-8 years old accounts, only about 10-20 games in the last week and never write anything in chat, no pings from them ever. This is confirmed by so many qm players already, some even say with full confidence since they play 3-4 game with this bot, others take it as something normal already and confirm that bots have been added to the game.
They act at their own discretion, showing a level of play lower than others, and can just at any moment turn around from the moving direction.
And they’re right. Identical 9 year old accounts with exactly the same match history, behavior, disabled chat, no pings of any kind - there can’t be up to half of them in every qm match, obviously
They have become very numerous since the last patch, in every match - if there are not enough real players, as I realized.
I can’t realize we’ve come to this boys. You’re now officially half-playing with the ai. What’s the competitive element? Who’s bigger in the pack and who has less bots?

I’m taking the Occam’s razor view on this, as I said to you before, your suggestion provides Blizzard with no real benefit.
I doubt very much they would go to the trouble of adding bots to a dead game to make it seem more “alive”, yet not fix the B.net client patch bug that has been around for almost 2 years. There is also a year-long bug with the “recruit a friend” feature.
When it comes to Hots, the minimal attention it receives from the ghost Dev, is exactly what you would expect from a title that is considered a “failure”, and has been put in maintenance mode.
This is all speculation and conjecture, but I would argue that where Hots is concerned, it’s firmly in the rearview for Blizzard, even if it has a small, but dedicated player base.
I’d be more concerned that at any moment Blizz/MS might close the servers, I’m still amazed they leave dedicated servers up and running for the ANZ region (and other small regions), rather than just shut them down and move the few players there to the US/EU.
Game has years of people thinking their games have bots, and then don’t.
Given that this is pretty much the only thing you post about, share little-to-nothing that indicates that you’re actually playing this game, I’m going to venture that you aren’t actually encountering blizzard-made bots in QM.
It’s more likely that you’re trolling, playing in leavers queue, simply have afk/leaves in your games or are actually playing in VS ai and don’t have the patience to notice.
It’d be one thing for you to think it’s weird in a low-pop server, but here you are projecting that everyone else must be having that and they simply aren’t. Zomg, I checked profiles and found out some people in my games haven’t played in 2 years :O. It’s almost like some sort of free game recently patched and all the rest of the video game world is on fire because investors are sacking all the game studios to pretend they’re making money.
I think recent events for Vimm are more likely to cause bot-like players to have come back to the game than the nexus janitor to have enabled qm bots for you and everyone else that isn’t me, or the ones that were in my games, or in their games.
It’s just… these characters were definitely not in qm before, now they are everywhere. Perhaps such a function was the default in the game before, it’s just that now there are critically few players, summer…
I think I have seen bots more unfortunately. You can kind of tell because of how fast they perform their abilities. They spam them so quickly and in succession, but do so without any thought, rhyme or reason. You can also check people’s profiles and they tend to have thousands of games.
But they’re still not very common. The conspiracy that Blizzard is intentionally putting them in is hilarious though.
I didn’t notice any bots in this mode. They shouldn’t exist. There are only people here!

I think often when someone is called a bot it’s a person in trash skill tier. You shouldn’t forget that while Blizzard calls it a “team game” it has in parallel the worst matchmaking in the MOBA market.
We agree on something. Yes, the majority of players I’ve seen who play like Bots, were simply bad or new players. In an ARAM match yesterday, three players were calling the Lt. Morales a bot, until eventually “the bot”, replied with "Beep, beep da, doo, get lost ya all!"
The most “botting” I’ve witnessed is those players who use a script to play Cho’Gall, well, the Gall part anyway. This isn’t just speculation, I’ve been in games where the Cho player admitted the Gall was a bot, which often shows, as the Cho will often have far more hero damage than the AI Gall.
There are tons of bots in QM. You see that they way their heroes move. Always the same straight walks to the enemy team. Ramp up lots of deaths, aren#t with the team, do not chat… QM is garbage. Unplayable.
Well, it seems my mother has been playing Hots again, she only knows how to hold the right mouse button down and keeps walking in a straight line until she’s dead.
I suggested to you in your complaint thread, that you should check out Hots Discords, use the LFG feature, or ask here or on Reddit if people want to team up.
