I’m too much of a lootaholic to not open the chests up. I’m the person that, even with end game gear, goes in and steals everything not bolted down in a room just before the final boss fight.

I still open them to try to finish my collection (which is almost impossible).

The real problem is that my favorites characters can’t earn lootboxes anymore, this is really one of the things that should be changed on that game.

44 boxes here. I save them for at least 50-100. It’s fun to play box slots, especially if you have some gold to spare for 1/2 resets on each. You get good odds to find something you don’t already have/ find some purples and golds for shards.

Not all but just the hero specific loot boxes and rare. I have 200+ normal boxes and then I have some past event loot boxes like the Suns Out Guns out boxes etc

You’re at lvl 999 with more than one hero!?

When you have that many boxes, you don’t really need to re-roll.

I have over 900 left, all the heroes, most emotes, enough skins and mounts. I don’t need anything more. It’s not interesting to open them anymore.
Side note, I’m not conditioning my brain to expect something out if them.

I am usually more annoyed when I open them and don’t get a duplicate. But if it’s an announcer I don’t have, that’s cool.

If you asked me to be honest, I would admit I’ve played Hots far more than I should have over the years, yet I’ve not yet even reached level 100 with any hero. I have many in the eighties, and every hero is at least mastered, except for Genji/Alarak/KTZ.

I can be very single-minded, but I’d get very bored long before I can push a hero to level 999, but hats off to those who have the dedication.

even if I have no reason to, I still do
I haven’t got everything because I don’t want everything

I do it out of cleanliness
though I do have to question why it’s so adamant in giving my medhiv skins
