Does anyone else hate lucio's new heroic high five?

I just don’t like it conceptually and more so, I hate the way it looks and sounds. Sure it’s strong but sound barrier just feels better and more fun to use.

More of a preference thing than anything else really, feels like they missed the mark a bit with this new heroic.

I mean they could have at least made it look and sound better. Currently what high five does is lucio skates to the target then you hear a pop sound like a vacuum cleaner or a toilet bowl being plugged or something. They couldn’t have made a less stupid sounding sound effect…

And graphically it just looks like lucio shoving his gun into the target ally’s face

Still is the best way to make people raise their open hands in the air in 2019.

I panic whenever Lucio tries to high five me because it looks so aggressive

I thought it would be a cool alternative as single target burst heal plus cleans in comparison to soundbarrier after the rework, but I have to admit, after the 1st “try-out-week” I haven’t pickt it once. The AoE burst “heal” from soundbarrier just seems better in every situation … especially since Chromie with her timeloop got nerfed (one of the few situations, where I valued a cleans more than to ‘waste’ soundbarrier on a single target).
High Five just has to many disadvantages: can drain your mana, puts yourself into a bad position (since you have to move to the target instead of casting it from a distance like the ‘normal’ cleanses) … and the heal isn’t much (and only single target). Yes, the cleans could prevent some dmg, but in the end the shield does the same job better (and as AoE).

That’s because its actually a slap, not a high five.

What about the sound effect? Anyone like the sound of a toilet bowl being plugged?

Feels like they spent 0 budget on the art and sound team for this rework

You’re worried about the sound and art effects for the rework?

This rework has way bigger problems than the v/sfx, like the fact that they completely gutted Speed Boost so they could shove Push Off into his kit, or that they took a unique and fun (albeit rarely picked) ult that could have been fixed fairly easily and replaced it with a spammable (but otherwise generic) Cleanse+Heal.

What we’ve basically learned is that High Five and Reverse Amp aren’t actually bad ults, but Sound Barrier is incredibly overpowered and the only thing carrying Lucio’s limping kit.

Actually lucio is a very aggressive support (if played to his max potential, using his speed) so I don’t know why they gave him another heroic that does not benefit himself at all or help keep himself.

Not to mention the fact that sound barrier and high five functionality overlaps a lot.

A damage heroic for lucio would have been nice to accentuate the other half of his kit, which is as an aggressive chaser that can disrupt rotations and dismount enemies and scout with his speed.

High five, since it doesn’t protect lucio, encourages lucio to stay in the backlines all the time until an opportunity to cast it arises which is bad for his playstyle

I’ve tried it in a few games. It can be okay when the other team has loads of crowd control. It can also save your teammate from a very long silence or stun like Butcher’s heroic or Hanzo’s arrow that has traveled halfway across the map.

But it’s not really a “15 second cleanse”, because it costs a lot of mana, and you can’t remove some effects like Entangling Roots (because you will get rooted before you get to your teammate.

Precleansing effects like hooks, pulls, displacements etc. is also very unreliable due to the wind-up time of High Five. It should cast much faster.

The few games I see anyone picking it, they use it as just a tiny burst heal, which I don’t think was the intention of the developers.

I think it would be nice if Lucio had an actual animation running towards his allies than just head butting them and an actual voiceline.

well, shoving his gun into the face actually makes sense at level 20? lol (because you target your enemy too) but lucio is so wacky that he does that to his allies up until that level, and allies heal with enjoyment. D:?

I love high five it really facilitates an aggressive playstyle. It synergizes well with push off and soundwave. high five is what brings it all together so that playing lucio feels a lot like playing tracer or genji which may be their intention.

It’s really good in situations where grouping up your team is dangerous or playing against deadly melee assassins.

Ultimately the heroic you choose should have an effect on how you play the hero and I think with high five they got it right.

Arbitrary.

But no, I don’t hate it.

I high five their faces so I’m all good with the animation.

I miss Nonstop Remix.

I dislike High Five because it’s mandatory for a high-HPS play style. If they’d make the 33% longer Amp It Up duration a base lv20 talent not tied to an ultimate, I’d probably never take High Five.

I hope blizz at least gives this heroic a better animation and sound.

Compared to the other heroics, it is an absolute disgrace

Id rather have reverse amp back…………That my opinion.
