- Baal. Must be next, I cant wait to have the prime evils in one game. Minion of destruction minion please.
- The Ancients. Viking like hero, Theres a ranged, Melee and a tank.
- Belial - First healer and support evil. Poison enemies wells and health globes, where it damages them. Posess bosses, to where it takes extra cap to capture bosses.
- Duriel - Bruiser. Prince of pain, Maybe attacking him with allies around heals him. Great camper.
- Andariel - She possessed the rouges, maybe while standing near enemy minions, they temporarily turn for your team.
- Cow King - Yea, seriously. do whatever you want ill play him.
A fountain NEVER should hurt a player. Neither should health globes. Certain objects should remain static through the game. Such idea is similar to a mana drain which can create issues you normaly wouldnt get.
In the case of mana drains, it means mana efficiency no longer matters. So its better to spam stuff, and mana heavy heroes have trouble.
For healing globes and fountains, it creates diffirent issues:
- People will no longer take health globes because they are a risk. Because they dont take the globe, they hurt their teammates.
- Quests require healthglobe pickups. You dont want this to become counter productive by having a poorly designed hero.
- For fountains, having 1 kill you, which a fountain already has a long charge. Is again a reason to avoid use, especialy when its needed. This is very close to the capabilities of an overpowered ult because ideal timing is generaly already applied because the enemy has low health. Just use it on the enemy directly rather than relying on a trap.
- If trap mechanics were fun, more heroes like abathur would have been made which can place traps. The only reason why abathurs case is accepted is because these traps generaly cannot be placed close to safe areas, or in the middle of lanes (minions break these). Trap mechanics take a lot of care to prevent them becoming a problem.
What however could be done is simply just faking health globes (and to get an idea how: you summon a minion that drops one to give the illusion its a valid one). The pickup itself doesnt harm, but forcing the enemy out of position can. But a hero can decide wether he will take the risk (a low health hero is very unlikely to take it, but could hold back to see his teammate take it).
And if he takes the risk and succeds, the missing healing is already some effective damage as it generaly wasnt worth the risk. And wastes valuable time you could have used for healing.
For belial i however think it would be better if he becomes a hazard to intel based systems. for example:
- Disrupting the minimap by showing fake hero locations (decoys) which makes tracking heroes difficult
- Being able to cloak teammates
- Disguise as a diffirent hero
Proper systems can still disrupt GM’s even when they have a mic. Simply because they would constantly have to talk about enemy positioning which causes noise in their communication. And especialy when mixing it in with stealth heroes, this can have a massive effect.
(bonus effect: these systems become less effective on weaker teams because they dont look as much on the minimap - which is a form of balancing aswel)
I still have no idea who this is beyond being a prime evil.
Despite seeing him mentioned like 200000 times.
Based on the abilities you want on other heroes, I’m going to say that the ability you suggest for him probably isn’t okay for him to have.
DOESN’T mean we couldn’t have the heroes, just because i dunno who they are. Just more of the ideas of what the heroes do sounds bad for gameplay based on you being the most explanation I have of them.
No, we don’t need any Vikings like hero until the vikings are reworked. And given that is currently not in the works iirc, I don’t think it makes sense to introduce a similar hero.
Who is this???
Or is this the evil demon guy on the Battlefield of immortals?
Poison on thosethings sounds dumb–see Alias for more explanation.
Possessing bosses… like he sits on a boss acting as a second life? Sounds unfun and scummy and just bad from a gameplay and balance perspective.
No idea who this is.
The idea of someone being healed if attacked with allies near them sounds dumb.
No idea who this is.
But that effect sounds both very similar to things in the game, and super powerful. Well, or super weak, depending on if they give the other team exp.
This is from the cow level easter egg thingy right?
I don’t think we need two bovine-based easter eggs.
Even if they’re from different games.
Tauren are close enough to cows mentally at least, maybe it’s just a weird thing I’ve got going on.
Which would be a great reason NOT to add something like that lol!
If you add a mechanic that is more effective against better players… just no. That’s dumb.
I also want Eirena as a playable hero
Your lack of Itherael, Aidan/Dark Wanderer, Adria and D2 Druid (edit:) and Zoltun Kulle(!) is distrubing >.>
That last idea is fantastic. If Belial is ever introduced (not likely with the current pace of releases but one can hope), one of his heroics could be disguising as any other hero in the match for a duration of time. But he would retain his own abilities.
No dark border like with Abathur’s clones, just a perfect mirage.
Imagine having a seemingly harmless Lt Morales or Gazlowe suddenly ganking you with Swift Strike or Primal Grasp.
I doubt Andarielle will be added.
She’s almost nude. It was at times of gore, blood and violence.
It was before Blizzard got Disneyed.
I… I just want Itherael to complete the Angiris Council team.
Itherael and Baal. That is all.
We need the wonderer. A warrior who has random minions just summon around him.
Zoltun Kulle! Iconic and one of the founders of the Horadrim, considered the most powerful mage in Sanctuary. His basic kit in D3 is almost ready made for HOTS including ULT’s, unique abilities, boss voice acting and funny!
It seems though I’m the only fan on the forums for Mr. Kulle. I’m not sure why as he’s so important to the Diablo story, is with you throughout most of Act 2 and is a mainstay NPC managing the Horadic cube in Adventure Mode.
For a joke Diablo character I’d prefer a Treasure Goblin.
I’m behind all your suggestions but not really The Ancients, not iconic enough and we have Sonya, Johanna, heroes that fill that fantasy already.
Damn, I knew I forgot someone important ><
Isendra
A wizard who uses lightning, something.
Zoltun Kulle would not be amused!
excuse me a moment i have to go look at my legion mistrress Kerrigan skin… Lunara is wearing 2 leaves. If there is a reason to not add the Maiden of Anguish, I hope that that isn’t it. I think she would work well as a tank. Little poison spray, little primal grasp action on the autoattacks, pulling people into your team. Maybe her ult could be something like a short cooldown grip abillity.
I have to tell you though, that d2 wasn’t nearly as grisly as d1. I don’t remember HOW naked the succubi are in d2, but i know that in d1, if they updated the graphics, i would be looking at some high quality pixels, if you know what i mean. Wink.
I really would like to see Duriel and Andariel both in the game. Maybe Magdha. Not huge for Adria, since I wasnt a fan of Cain either. They were just old people NPCs. May as well throw Griswold or Peppin in there, but Peppin could actually be a healer if they hadn’t just given the potions to Cain.
Maybe they can throw Farnham into the mix for St Pattys day. Now I miss the Tristram music.
Yeah, a big no for D3’s version of Adria, she was such a cartoon mustache twirling villain, and nobody was surprised at her betrayal. A no to her daughter too, Leah was pretty one dimensional.
Your list is missing Cydaea.
If you’ve never played Diablo, that would make sense, but then you certainly don’t need to repeat that you’ve never played Diablo II and have no idea who any of the main act bosses were. I’m not even sure why you felt the need to reply if you have no background or ideas to contribute.
I think this is a hero that probably won’t happen. In D2:LOD, he had a clone, tentacles, a teleport, and other abilities that simply don’t translate well to HotS. He would need a significant overhaul with a new vision to make him viable. As much as I would like to see the final Prime Evil in the game, I don’t think he’s going to happen
If you look at his abilities from D2:LOD, he had a charge and a frozen aura. If he caught you, he killed you. That’s essentially Arthas right now. They’d have to create a whole new kit for him, based on fairly limited lore.
I wonder if Blizz has simply decided to let the War3/WoW concept of the druid be the representation in HotS. The D2 version is a shapeshifter and an earth elemental caster, and I think there’s space creatively for one or the other, despite overlap with Greymane (shifter) and Thrall/Reghar (elemental casters). Personally, I’d like rather see them develop a WoW feral druid who could talent into either a bear or cat form. I know they struggled with Varian as a multiclass hero, but I’d like to see a proper hybrid with true flexibility in the game - and I think the druid concept is the way to do it.
I’d add a D2 trapsin to the list, if you’re going down the D2 route. There’s some crossover with Gaz and his turrets here, but a front line caster who sets up turrets with various effects would be a really interesting support concept.
I was extremely poor in communicating what I was thinking.
You are correct.
Ultra poor, as a matter of fact.
It comes down to the fact that most truly icon characters that “everyone knows” are in the game. Not all, Deathwing for example, I think it would be safe to assume that nearly everyone knows he is a giant black dragon from WoW.
When you suggest a character, if you provide zero background of who they are, why they matter, you’re only pitching your hero to maybe 50% of the playerbase for WoW, and probably closer to 25% for Diablo or Starcraft.
The prevalence of this is why I jokingly suggest Lasarra would be a great character to add from Starcraft! As an extreme case of that, given she is an NPC that exists for 3ish missions in one campaign of Starcraft 2.
if people have no idea what the character is, why they’re important, what they do you’re not pitching a hero well.
The OP DID pitch ideas of what they could do (mostly gamebreaking/experience breaking stuff imo) but they utterly failed in the “who are they Why are they important?”
I did it in a terrible (ultra terrible) manner, as it was not clear what I wanted from the OP. But I think it is reasonable outside of characters that are the face of franchises to expect someone to explain the character.
yeah but why did you even reply
