Hello, my intention was never to insult people who worked on this game(Heroes of The Storm). Still, my reply exposing cheaters and the topic who all of a sudden get removed does give me hope that these violations of the end user license caused by people who use cheats to gain an advantage over other players are at least noticed.
At the moment all lower divisions are flooded by players that are master/grandmaster level. The Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum/ division both on EU and NA does feel like the diamond 1 division or master league. I understand streamers do make bronze to grand master challenges by smurfing. However, we have now players that use third-party software to gain an advantage which means fewer and fewer people would find this game to be attractive.
When my topic gets removed we will know for sure that the small team who works on heroes is at least aware of the problem. Crossing fingers patch notes will come asap. Would like to see a ban wave but thatās less likely.
For those who say this game has no cheating. Please educate yourselves from the bottom videos:
P.S. Although these clips are from months ago, it does show that when the company stop updating for a while their game begins to rot unless it gets treatment. Hopefully, the ambulance will arrive to save this game.
The videos arenāt mine, but big thanks to the person who exposed those. I had a game vs full-stack smurfs and we had a solid composition of heroes. However, the enemy knew exactly where we are the whole game. That game wasnāt plat 5 it felt like grandmaster top 10.
Wow, I had no idea about any of this. Thanks for the info. If anything, even if staff fail to see this, you at least still helped players by spreading the word.
Map hacking are really comedic, they need it to so they can tunnel vision and not getting ganged, but they will be unable to climb beyond the average MMR because they arenāt able to manage their cooldowns correctly or utilize their moments correctly, just to have enough comfort of not being ganged, something already easy to utilize by installing Map DLC for free.
I also like how sometimes the command ping goes from green to red in the replay, they are literally right clicking something they arenāt allowed to, they arenāt hiding it lol.
It really sucks to see this stuff though, its only a matter of time to see people to get hacks that are much worser than this one that goes off the radar, like tribute channeling while the tribute hasnāt spawned yet and stuff like this were caught on stream.
Naming cheaters, withchunting is against forum rules (the reason threads about these are removed, and this can be automatic as well). Try writing about them on reddit. But most importantly, write web tickets so those who can actually do something about it (not us) will see these directly.
I donāt own a Reddit account, nor do I wish to create a new one. If I get a suspension then Iām okay with that. I donāt use to play heroes like I did last year so getting a forum suspension is okay. At least players will be aware of the issue.
However, a subreddit topic would be welcomed if someone else share and explain the issues. Hopefully the game can recover from itās current state
Probably got deleted because itās against the rules to share the name of those players, even if they are truly wrong and cheating.
Best thing is reporting ingame and if you wanna share something, then take out those names from the videos. At least this way you can have the thread not deleted and call peopleās attention to this problem.
I can personally attest to being immediately hit with a precision skillshot as Nova, fully cloaked and hiding in a bush before the enemy arrived, and definitely not with the red eye over my head. I thought it was freak intuition (hey, I check bushes that way too), but now Iām wonderingā¦
Cheating is just so sad, and completely ruins a game. Banning is not a solution in a game for which a new account can be spun up so easily. The only solution is to break the cheats and stay on top of them. Ugh, so enraging! This is why we canāt have nice things. I hate people with all my soul. Itās a very good thing that I do not rule the universe.
I have created a ticket but we will see if anybody responds. Nor I have participated in any of these games. I just randomly discovered these videos on YouTube
I agree. Whether they are maphacking or not, vision alone wont allow these players to progress beyond gold/plat rank.
They donāt have the mechanical skill and strategical thinking necessary to get to top ranks simply by having an unfair vision advantage.
This has happened to me too, but Iām very careful of calling that āhackingā because after playing ~10k matches of HotS I very well know I also sometimes burn expensive cooldowns with an intuitive expectation of a player being in that bush.
I have also died to such skillshots while hiding on low HP or while being in stealth, but I have always treated it as pure luck.
I have faced cheaters aswell when I was still playing. Got killed by a ktz that placed his spike and then throwed his chain into the fog and grapped me out of it and had me killed.
I checked the replay and he had no vision of me coming that way into that bush.
Also have multiple evidence againts a guy that I faced a few times in QM that mostly only play in 5 stacks. He has multiple videos showing him diving into an area with Sylvanas and get someone killed he had no vision on and another clip where he spike-chained somone on the other side of the wall that was HS back to base. And again he had no vision of that injurid hero he killed with that combo.
If cheaters in this game is so common now then Iām fine I actually quit this game cause the last thing I want to spend time doing is to waste time losing to 5 stacks that map hack.
I mean in all likelihood, they probably werenāt. Itās best not to confuse the existence of cheats from putting on your tin foil hat like Queen and extrapolating that to all occurrences and warping it to being commonplace.
As you said, the fact that you check for bushes is quite common, so jumping straight to cheating is probably a bit presumptuous in many scenarios, even if possible. Playing with that attitude is only going to needlessly embitter you for no good reason most of the time.
But yeah, I wonder if cheats are being actively monitored and fought against now that the game is in maintenance mode.
Iām just upset because I posted a reply to a thread someone created complaining about a certain person who was pretty abusive to him in game and then a day later its gone and I canāt even see what caused it to be taken down. Iām glad I didnāt make popcorn.
To the unknown employee, please let me view every post that is worthy of getting taken down so I can have a laugh before its gone. Much appreciated.
Well that was the idea of this topic. Since yesterday my post to another topic was removed including the whole topic taken down does show signs of care.
After a Game Master respond. I have reported to the suggested email. All we can do now is hope that a new patch notes or updates will be implemented and prevent this violation of the end user license to happen again.
Well obviously lol. The people in charge of moderation of forums are obviously not the same people who head up the anti cheating team. I just donāt want people to go on paranoidal crusades that prevents them from enjoying playing the game.
The moderation is all over the place. There is a thread up now that is totally off-topic, with explicit references to, well, very explicit things, but it and the offending posts remains untouched. Then you can have whole threads removed for one bad comment, rather than just the comment removed.
Thanks to the OP for posting this. Itās not a shock, I live under a rock, and even I have heard of some of these exploits. With Hots in its current state, most likely examples like you posted will only increase.
I doubt they will provide you with specific reasons, as I said above, itās really a compliment if you call the moderation āspottyā at this point.
I have no idea how common cheating is in Hots. However, everyone here who plays the game should at least be able to agree that any kind of cheating is unacceptable, common or not.
Itās almost random, or this would have been deleted long ago. (See first sentence after āEditā)
