I get it. It’s me, I’m not your target demographic anymore. I’m not sure who you’re looking at now, but I know it’s not me. I’m not super active on the forums, twitter, or anywhere really. I mostly just played your games because I found them fun and thought they were well designed for a great PC experience. I thought you had something special here with HotS, because it was a MOBA that truly accentuated team play and allowed even the weakest player to still contribute to the game in meaningful ways. You accentuated and engouraged team fights by having map objectives that had true meaningful consequences to the gameplay, not optional boosts or buffs to characters. You had multiple map designs that were each different and fun to play.
Most importantly I felt that it was ok if I played this game casually. Just hop in, have some fun, but not need to necessarily grind out everything. I owned every hero except the Lost vikings. I bought multiple bundles. In all I would say that I spent somewhere between 1-2k on this game… and that’s the modest estimate. I’ve been playing since Alpha, and I’ve consistently spend money on the game. Sometimes more when I was in a good place financially, sometimes less when things were tight, but I figured that I should support something that I enjoyed with my money.
A lot of people have played more than me, A lot or people were more serious than me, but that was ok. I often had fun watching their amazing skill and dedication. I wasn’t able to watch all the HGC games, I do have a full time job, but I would catch it when I could and make sure to go watch the videos of matches that I couldn’t catch live.
I’m sorry that I don’t matter to your bottom line calculations of where your efforts should be. Thank you for the years that I’ve had fun playing your games. I truly hope that you change direction. I would love to continue to play games that I love, with characters that I love, and an attention to detail that I truly appreciate.
